At a border region of the Land of Fire.
"Lord Killer B, are you sure we can cross into the Land of Wind safely?" a Cloud Ninja asked.
"You fool, you idiot," Killer B sang out. "No problem. It's not wartime. We're just passing through the border—Konoha won't even notice. This saves us time."
"Yes, Lord Killer B," the ninja replied, accustomed to Killer B's antics, and the others nodded in agreement.
Though young, Killer B's strength was already elite Jonin level. He became a Jonin at age twelve; now at sixteen, as the Eight-Tails Jinchuuriki, his power even rivaled an ANBU's. He controlled the Eight-Tails perfectly, which was why the Raikage sent him to lead this mission into the Land of Wind—just like Roshi's Rock Ninja task, they were investigating the Raikage's disappearance. Every village's Kage was on edge; if another village's ninja had kidnapped their Raikage, what would they do in return? The Raikage and Tsuchikage were confident, but they needed answers.
"All right—let's move," Killer B stood and led his team onward. Remaining at the Fire border too long was risky.
Suddenly, Killer B paused.
"What is it, Lord Killer B?" the ninja asked.
"Someone's coming," he said, turning to spot two figures approaching swiftly.
"Konoha ninja," his followers tensed, for they were on enemy soil; Konoha held the home-field advantage.
"Eight-Tails Jinchuuriki Killer B," Orochimaru greeted with a cold smile.
"One of the Konoha Sannin, Orochimaru," Killer B replied with a grin. "I've heard of your legendary name."
"Then tell me—why sneak your Cloud ninjas into the Land of Fire?" Orochimaru asked calmly.
"You fool, you idiot," Killer B replied again. "I don't know."
Those words froze Orochimaru's eyes.
"Very well. Now that I know your purpose, we'll be on our way." Killer B signaled his team and departed before Orochimaru could intervene—no one could easily stop an Eight-Tails Jinchuuriki. They had ventured here not for Konoha, but for Hidden Sand Village.
"Tian Yuan, your sense of destiny is remarkable," Orochimaru murmured, eyes gleaming strangely.
"Perhaps," Tian Yuan shrugged. He had just received a high-definition video signal—and a new mission that seemed almost impossible.
"That is talent, Tian Yuan," Orochimaru said as if from afar. "Like the Hyūga or Uchiha clans' kekkei genkai, this gift is uniquely yours. It may not aid you directly in battle now, but as you grow, it will prove invaluable."
"Sensei Orochimaru, I will train hard," Tian Yuan promised.
"I know." Orochimaru smiled. "Let us return."
They left together. Shortly after, Tian Yuan paused. "Sensei, I must attend to something."
"Something?" Orochimaru frowned. At the Fire border, what could Tian Yuan need?
"All right. I'll bring Anko and Juken back. When you're done, catch up with us," Orochimaru said.
"Yes, Sensei Orochimaru." Tian Yuan nodded and vanished from sight.
"You have many secrets, Tian Yuan," Orochimaru said with a curious smile. "I see my own reflection in you." He curled his lips into a sinister grin—perhaps his truest visage. Satisfied that his pupil would return, Orochimaru departed.
In a forest of the Land of Fire.
Tian Yuan inhaled deeply, sensing the absence of Orochimaru. He checked his Player System: he had received not only the high-definition video signal but also a new mission.
"Mission: Defeat Killer B to obtain a One-Punch Man high-definition video."
