"Ding! Acquired Flying Technique," the System announced mechanically.
"Flying Technique!" Tian Yuan's face lit up. He had not expected this ability from the Dragon Ball world—common among warriors there, but unheard of in the Hokage world. Humans could not fly under their own power; only puppets or ninjutsu granted such mobility. That was why Deidara, who could soar and hurl explosive clay, was so feared.
Tian Yuan absorbed the Flying Technique immediately. All its nuances flowed through his mind; his body and Chakra subtly adjusted to accommodate it. As soon as the technique was integrated, he floated effortlessly in midair—no ninjutsu required.
With a shift of his form, he rocketed forward so swiftly the air hissed past him—rivaling even his ground-running speed. In the sky, nothing could obstruct him. He knew Flying Technique's speed could scale with his power—just as in the Dragon Ball world, warriors could orbit the Earth in moments.
This ability's potential was immense.
"Wonderful." Tian Yuan landed atop a tall tree. With flight added to his arsenal, his survivability soared. Of course, he was not invincible—powerful Tailed Beasts or genjutsu could still catch him. He would need to keep growing stronger.
"How do I locate Sensei Orochimaru and Anko?" Tian Yuan hesitated, then furrowed his brow. He clenched his hands, and a summoning scroll appeared. He placed it on the ground and infused Chakra.
A glowing summoning array flared, and a small serpent emerged, holding a large scroll in its mouth. It delivered the scroll to Tian Yuan and vanished.
Tian Yuan unrolled it. "Regroup at the Land of Birds' capital." He nodded and vanished in a flash. Orochimaru had found Anko and Juken and instructed Tian Yuan to meet them in the city.
Clearly, Sasaki Tai had come to no harm—otherwise Orochimaru would have sent for Tian Yuan at the border, not the capital.
As he flew toward the city, Tian Yuan practiced coordinating his new abilities—especially the Elite Chunin Experience Pack's buffs, which had greatly elevated his power. Though the System made the techniques familiar, repeated use honed his combat instincts and ability integration.
Far away, in another part of the Land of Birds.
"Sensei Orochimaru, what of Tian Yuan?" Anko asked, glancing at Orochimaru. She, Juken, Orochimaru, and the merchant waited under a tree.
"I've sent the summons via Summoning Animal. When he receives it, he'll come to the capital," Orochimaru said calmly.
"But he faced three Chunin alone…" Anko hesitated. She knew how dangerous that was.
"Tian Yuan," Juken said coldly, a flicker of admiration in his eyes—he respected Tian Yuan's courage.
"We don't know where he is, so we can't find him. And too much time has passed," Orochimaru continued. "But with his strength, he should have evaded them."
"But…" Anko began.
"If he doesn't come, then it's his destiny," Orochimaru said lightly.
"I understand," Anko nodded.
"Let's go." Orochimaru stood and led them toward the capital, as if his duel with Roshi had left him unscathed.
Elsewhere in the Land of Birds, Roshi glared into the distance. "All three dead? Damn those Konoha ninja."
Roshi—Four-Tails Jinchuuriki of Rock Ninja Village—spoke to himself. "And Orochimaru truly is one of the Sannin; I gained no advantage. Those three escapees must have been merely Genin—yet they slew my subordinates?"
He could not fathom it. One of those Genin had transformed so rapidly that all three elite Rock Ninja fell before him.
"Enough. Time to return to Rock Ninja Village. We've learned all we need about Hidden Sand Village." Roshi decided and departed. The scorched, shattered forest testified to the ferocity of his fight with Orochimaru—both had wielded their full power.
A day later…
"I've arrived." Tian Yuan approached the bustling capital of the Land of Birds. Citizens streamed through its gates in every direction.
"It's time to find Sensei Orochimaru and the others."
