In a forest of the Land of Birds.

The two remaining Rock Ninja's ninjutsu were executed to perfection—they were clearly handpicked by Roshi for this investigation. The Earth Flow Spear struck Tian Yuan, and this time he did not dodge.

But the Rock Ninja showed no joy—Tian Yuan dissolved into smoke, revealing a shadow clone.

"Over here." One Rock Ninja's expression suddenly changed as he looked behind him—Tian Yuan was already very close.

"Busted," Tian Yuan said with a cold smile, "but the distance is just right."

"Just right." The Rock Ninja raised his kunai in defense.

"I have more than ninjutsu." Tian Yuan's palm glowed with that familiar power as he fully unleashed his Armament Haki.

Armament Haki: Emission Attack

"Boom." The sky trembled as an invisible force slammed into the Rock Ninja—inescapable.

"Impossible," the Rock Ninja cried in his dying breath.

His chest cracked apart, blood gushing, and he was blasted off into several trees before falling—his life extinguished by that tremendous blow.

Ninjutsu could project power outward, but taijutsu required deep mastery to create an air-cannon effect. Only someone like A in his Eight Gates form could achieve it. These three elite Chunin would not last more than a few rounds against such an opponent—but they never expected Tian Yuan to possess this power. Unprepared, he was obliterated by Tian Yuan's Armament Haki.

This was the result of Tian Yuan's Chunin-level Haki enhancement; as a Genin, he could not have done it. Armament Haki grows with one's physical ability.

"How could this be?" The last Rock Ninja stared dumbfounded—his comrades were gone in the blink of an eye. Killing a single Konoha ninja had seemed easy, yet here two lay dead by Tian Yuan's hand, beheaded so brutally.

Now Tian Yuan's gaze fell upon him—the Rock Ninja snapped back to reality. He could not face Tian Yuan alone.

"Run!" With that, he turned and fled. There would be no dishonor in retreat; this was not a Great Ninja War.

"You may run?" Tian Yuan's voice was calm as countless kunai he had launched earlier reassembled around the fleeing ninja.

"These are steel wires," the Rock Ninja realized, panic in his eyes.

"Exactly." Tian Yuan's lips curved. Small flames crept along the wires, encircling the ninja.

Fire Release: Phoenix Flower Crimson Claw

"No…" The ninja screamed as the flames engulfed him, consuming his body.

A moment later, a charred corpse fell from the sky to the forest floor.

"Ding! Mission complete: killed three Rock Ninja. Earned half a standard Dragon Ball video fragment." The System's voice rang in Tian Yuan's ear.

"Done." Tian Yuan smiled. His previous clip had yielded Senzu Beans; he wondered what this one would give. Either way, he was satisfied.

Now armed with the Elite Chunin Experience Pack, Tian Yuan's strength ranked among the top Chunin—partly enough to challenge a Jonin. He could breathe easier: he was no longer a weak ninja. In large-scale battles, his survival odds had skyrocketed.

Yet he was not complacent. Even with his power, if Orochimaru truly set his sights on Tian Yuan, escape would be difficult. His abilities still needed growth.

"What about Mr. Sasaki Tai?" Tian Yuan wondered. He and Orochimaru had left the merchant behind when they fled. If Orochimaru had prevailed, he would have retrieved Sasaki Tai.

"Never mind," Tian Yuan shook his head. Whether the merchant lived or died was beyond his concern—at worst, the mission failed.

"Combining two half fragments." Tian Yuan said.

"Yes—video synthesis in progress… Success." A standard Dragon Ball video appeared in his Player System.

Tian Yuan grinned. Of course it worked.

He immediately used it to extract its contents.

"Ding—obtained…"
