"Tian Yuan, congratulations on your victory. You are now an official Konoha Genin." Uchiha Obito hurried over.

"Brother Obito, Kakashi, and Rin." Tian Yuan greeted the three.

"Call me Brother Obito." Obito reminded him.

Tian Yuan ignored him. "Watch the matches."

Obito's veins bulged. "Tian Yuan, let's duel."

"My Chakra is too drained." Tian Yuan shrugged.

"Then tomorrow."

"Tomorrow my destiny forbids it."

"Then the day after."

"A Chunin challenging a Genin—shameful!"

"Not at all."

"Fine." Tian Yuan stepped away. "Kakashi, I admire how you put up with Obito so long."

"Mm." Kakashi nodded in agreement.

Soon the practice exams ended. Sarutobi Hiruzen and the others departed. The successful students returned to the Academy to receive their Konoha headbands and finalize post-graduation assignments. Obito and the rest rejoined Minato Namikaze on urgent missions—the Ninja World felt stormy.

Outside Konoha's gates.

"Look, Tian Yuan—this is your Konoha headband! I'm a true ninja now. Though just a Genin, I'll train hard." Anko beamed, clutching her new headband.

"All right, Anko—enough already. You've said that a dozen times." Tian Yuan yawned. "We have assignments tomorrow—go home early."

"I wonder who our mentor will be." Anko wondered aloud. No one yet knew who would guide each new Genin.

"See you tomorrow." Anko waved goodbye.

After she left, Tian Yuan's Player System pinged—a new chest appeared somewhere in Konoha, though only a Common box.

"Every little bit counts." He headed to the indicated spot—his usual practice ground.

"Here it is." He stood within the reception zone and drew the Common video fragment. It absorbed without incident—well, almost.

"Tian Yuan, congrats on graduating. Care for a match?" Might Guy appeared beside him, his teeth flashing.

"Guy…" Tian Yuan said. "My Chakra was nearly spent in today's exam. Find Kakashi instead."

"Right." Guy shrugged and vanished, off to track down Kakashi.

Tian Yuan pocketed his device and ventured into the nearby forest by Konoha. He opened the video:

"This is…" He read the title aloud.

"A Pokémon video." He raised an eyebrow. The Pokémon world boasted Charizard, legendary beasts like Mew—truly phenomenal. But from a Common fragment, real treasure was unlikely. Only the luckiest could draw rare items.

He extracted nonetheless.

Ding: "You have obtained a Poké Ball." Tian Yuan stared at it. "What use is a Poké Ball—catching beasts in the Hokage world?"

"Oh, wait—there's a Pokémon inside." His mind flooded with the Poké Ball's lore.

"Come out, Pikachu." He tossed the Ball.

A flash of white light revealed a chubby yellow creature—Pikachu. Its long ears tipped in black, tiny mouth shaped like a "3," black eyes, red cheeks, and a zigzag lightning-tail with a brown base.

"Pika, Pika…" Pikachu hopped, tail swaying cutely. Any girl would find it adorable.

"I feel like I've stepped into the Pokémon world." Tian Yuan laughed, charmed by Pikachu.

"Let's test your power." He and Pikachu ventured deeper.

"Use Thunderbolt!" Tian Yuan commanded.

"Pika—Chu!" Electricity crackled over Pikachu's body with thunderous pops, as he struck a wild beast. The creature froze motionless.

"Not fatal, but it paralyzes." Tian Yuan mused. He'd overestimated Thunderbolt—five hits for one paralysis, as he discovered. Pikachu regains energy whenever recalled to its Ball—a considerate gift.

"This is useful." He stored the Poké Ball in his Player System's extra-dimensional space.

"Pi-ka…" Pikachu hopped onto his shoulder.

"Nice." Tian Yuan patted Pikachu's head and departed.

As for the paralyzed beast—it shuddered and slunk away once recovered.
