Inside the Ninja Academy.

In the academy's training grounds, many students practiced Kunai throwing.

"Class, remember: Kunai are ninjas' most essential tools and partners. They serve as both close-combat weapons and ranged hidden blades," the ninja teacher instructed. "I've already explained how to hold a Kunai."

"Now begin your Kunai-throwing practice." The teacher aimed at the distant target. "Watch my hand: ninjas can control Kunai with raw strength or with Chakra. Today I demonstrate the physical method."

He flicked his right hand, and the Kunai whistled through the air.

With a bang, it struck dead center. Many students sighed in envy—few could match that accuracy.

"Everyone, start practicing."

"Yes, teacher." Several students hurled Kunai.

Some stood out—Anko and Gengetsu Hayate excelled among even their shorter classmates. But none matched graduates like Shippuden, Asuma, or Shizune, who had all become Jonin. Anko and Gengetsu Hayate would likely reach high Jonin rank later.

"Anko, do you think Tian Yuan's too scared to show up?" Gengetsu Hayate teased.

"Who says? Tian Yuan promised he'd come today. He never lies." Anko shot back.

"Not so sure—Kunai throwing isn't his strength, especially against me." Gengetsu Hayate laughed, envious of Tian Yuan's popularity despite modest power.

Before Anko could retort, a familiar voice rang out: "Hayate, I'm conserving my strength so you won't be humiliated."

All eyes turned as Tian Yuan strolled into the training ground, a broad grin on his face.

"Tian Yuan, what do you mean?" Gengetsu Hayate scowled. "You hid your strength?"

"Exactly." Tian Yuan said coolly. As an Elite Genin, this class was no challenge—and he planned to graduate soon. No point concealing power among these novices. Meanwhile he continued seeking video signals to boost his abilities before the Third Great Ninja War began.

Gengetsu Hayate bristled. "This is Kunai class. Prove yourself—throw some Kunai."

"Kunai throwing?" Tian Yuan laughed and stepped up, grabbing five Kunai. He flung them; they veered wide of the targets. Gengetsu Hayate smirked.

"This is your Kunai skill? You're worse than a brand-new student—"

Before he could finish, Tian Yuan produced a sixth Kunai in his right hand and hurled it. The sixth Kunai streaked forward, caught up with the first five mid-flight, and collided with them. Six Kunai then shot from six directions.

Thud, thud, thud… Six strikes hit six red centers. Gengetsu Hayate's smirk vanished; the field went silent. No one believed that was luck. Landing six hits required mastery. Even the teacher—a mere Chunin—stood speechless at such skill.

"Well done, Tian Yuan. You really were hiding your strength." Anko pounded his shoulder. "But why did you let me do all the work earlier?"

Tian Yuan sighed. She had always been first to act; he never got the chance. With Anko's impulsive nature, she would have cleared the field herself.

"Turns out Tian Yuan's amazing."

"Yeah, looks like he might graduate this year."

"For sure—he never revealed his power before."

"Hayate got totally owned."

Students whispered. Gengetsu Hayate's face went pale—how had he been made a fool?

"Damn you, Tian Yuan. You must have trained this secretly. Let's spar." Gengetsu Hayate challenged.

"Bring it on." Anko cheered.

"Hayate, is this really appropriate?" Tian Yuan said, resigned.

Gengetsu Hayate seized the opening. "Let's see now—you're nowhere near my level."

"Then let's fight." Tian Yuan grinned.

The moment to show off had arrived.
