"My fate…" Tian Yuan muttered as he strode through Konoha's streets. He had spotted a new signal fragment on the Player System map and rushed out to claim it—even if it was only a Standard signal. After the Elite Genin Experience Pack yesterday, he had high hopes for whatever treasure this fragment might yield.
"But it's on Konoha's outskirts," he thought. Now empowered as an Elite Genin, his speed was incredible. His Chakra control had reached a new plateau, and extracted abilities were instantly familiar rather than learned step by step.
"This looks like the Uchiha clan's secret gathering place." Tian Yuan glanced upward at the fan crest overhead. This was the Nanka Shrine, whose basement held the Six Paths Sage's tombstones.
"Luckily it's outside," he sighed. If the signal lay inside the Shrine, he'd have to give up—its Uchiha jonin guards would kill him on sight. Even his strength could not match them.
Feigning a lost child, he wandered near the Shrine entrance. The Uchiha clansmen paused but relaxed when they saw his youth. He halted a few meters from the door, within signal range.
The Player System's progress bar ticked. After a moment, it announced, "Reception complete." Tian Yuan exhaled—he could leave now.
"Kid, what are you doing here?" a calm voice called. Tian Yuan turned to see several ninja in Uchiha attire approaching him.
"I…got lost on life's journey." Tian Yuan improvised.
The lead man raised an eyebrow. "Lost, huh? Shisui, escort this boy home—he must be a Konoha ninja. Then rejoin us, okay?"
"Yes, clan leader." Shisui nodded and stepped forward.
"Little one," Shisui addressed him kindly.
"I'm Tian Yuan."
"Right. Where do you live? I'll take you there." Shisui offered.
"Oh, that's too much trouble, Brother Shisui." Tian Yuan cooed.
"No problem." Shisui smiled as he led Tian Yuan away. "Just call me Brother Shisui."
"Brother Shisui," Tian Yuan repeated, in full loli-mode.
The clan leader watched them go, then waved. "Let's proceed."
"Yes, clan leader." The others followed.
In Konoha's busy district, Tian Yuan said, "Brother Shisui, here is fine. It's close to the Academy."
"All right." Shisui nodded, then vanished in a blur of movement.
"Incredible speed." Tian Yuan's pupils narrowed. Even with his Elite Genin power, he knew Shisui was at least Chunin level.
Now alone, Tian Yuan scouted for the fragment's video. He slipped into a deserted alley and summoned the Player System.
He stared at the title in disbelief: "Censored Standard Video."
"Fuck you, System—you have no shame!" Tian Yuan flipped it off. Modern censored videos? He was already sick of them, and this one was fuzzy.
"Host, any video can appear. Sometimes even these contain treasures," the System replied.
"Modern stuff? Good luck with that." Tian Yuan was skeptical. Still, he extracted it.
Ding "Extraction successful: received one set of Premium Books." White light shimmered, and a stack of thick modern volumes materialized before him.
"Huh." Tian Yuan stared blankly at the covers. "A premium set indeed." He flipped through them. "These are definitely porn mags—premium porn mags, in color too."
"System, come out here! Let's have a real one-on-one battle," Tian Yuan roared.
"The quality of what you draw still depends on luck," the system replied calmly.
"Damn, are you saying my luck is that bad?" At this moment, Tian Yuan really wanted to duel the system in person—if only it had a physical form.
"Tian Yuan, found you." A booming laugh sounded, and a figure descended from the sky, wind flaring his hair.
"Lecherous Sage." Tian Yuan felt doomed. Jiraiya's eyes landed on the books at Tian Yuan's feet, shining with greed like a tiger spotting prey. He lunged, grabbed a volume, and flipped it open.
"Exquisite—truly exquisite! You've got taste, Tian Yuan. We're comrades after all." Jiraiya laughed.
"Lend these to your big brother for now." He scooped up all the books and vanished in an instant.
"Tian Yuan, don't worry—I'll return them."
"Lecherous Sage, too much…harms the body." Tian Yuan called after him casually. Jiraiya accelerated away.
"Forget it, I'm still too young; watching won't help. Better to head back to the ninja academy," Tian Yuan shook his head.
He now truly believed that in ordinary boxes, good things were indeed rare.
