With one swift motion, Chen Shang slammed the door shut and locked it behind him. He dashed through the hallway of Building A like a gust of wind, moving so quickly that the framed sign on the wall reading "Caution: Slippery Floor, No Running" was knocked off and shattered on the floor.
A loud bang echoed from behind, followed by the sound of something sharp tearing through metal. Chen Shang didn't need to look back to know that the human-spider hybrid was dismantling the door. From his earlier encounter, Chen had felt the spider's limbs—they were hard as steel, far surpassing normal human strength. Though it looked like human hands, their durability was undoubtedly beyond the strength of regular metal.
But breaking down a door took time.
This situation reminded Chen of his first live stream, when he outwitted the werewolf. Once again, he was using the environment to his advantage, counting on the monster's lack of intelligence to give him a few seconds' head start.
Unlike the castle from the previous stream, there was only one steel-reinforced door in this place that could buy him any time. Though it would hold for a few precious seconds, Chen Shang knew that's all he had before it gave way.
He sprinted ahead, making the most of the distance the small boss was forced to cover while breaking through the door. In less than ten seconds, Chen had cleared the hallway and arrived in Building A's main lobby.
With no hesitation, Chen Shang raced toward the main entrance, intent on making his escape. But just as he was about to reach the door, a chilling sensation swept over his body, as if he had plunged into icy water.
Glancing to his side, Chen Shang spotted a familiar sight: the pale face of the hospital clerk, "Sister Zhang," her disheveled hair hanging loosely over her gaunt features, glaring at him with pure malice from behind the counter.
[Well, here comes Sister Zhang, giving the streamer that 'surprise' he promised! She's beating him to the punch!]
[Sister Zhang: I strike while you're down! No one escapes me!]
[Go, Sister Zhang! Finish him!]
[Wait, why is everyone rooting for the monster?!]
[Because the streamer has out-creeped the monsters at this point...]
Chen Shang's mouth twitched at the sight of her, but he didn't slow down. Instead, he kept charging toward the exit, not missing a beat. With a smirk, he muttered, "Oh, Sister Zhang, cosplaying as Sadako now, huh? You have fun with that—I've got places to be."
Just as he was about to reach the door, Sister Zhang's spectral form floated out from behind the counter, her movements completely unaffected by gravity. Her outstretched hands reached for him, as if intent on choking the life out of him. Her voice, sharp and venomous, echoed through the lobby:
"Finish your work! Finish your work! Finish your work! You cannot leave here! You cannot escape!"
Her words blurred together in a hateful chant, the temperature around them plummeting to freezing as she flew toward him at a speed far surpassing his own. Chen Shang's sixth sense blared—this was the boss he'd been dealing with the entire time in Building A.
Yet despite the overwhelming pressure and danger, Chen Shang didn't feel afraid. In fact, he almost laughed. He had expected this moment. When Sister Zhang had handed him his tasks earlier, it had been clear that if he didn't complete them—or showed any sign of slacking—she would come for him.
Just as Sister Zhang's icy hands were about to wrap around his throat, Chen Shang reacted. His right arm shot up, and in an instant, the Cursed Mop of the Women's Restroom appeared in his hand. With a swift motion, he rammed the disgustingly filthy mop right into Sister Zhang's face.
"Take this, you old hag! I promised you a surprise—told you I always keep my word!"
[WTF?!]
[I completely forgot the streamer had that gross mop!]
[This is the surprise? If someone shoved that mop in my face, I'd just want to die, even if it didn't hurt...]
[How is this mop so terrifying?!]
[666666!]
[What's with the endless 6s?!]
Sister Zhang staggered backward, not because she was disgusted but because the Cursed Mop had unleashed a dark mist upon contact, like a smoke bomb going off in her face. The cloud of cursed energy blasted her backward into a wall, leaving her half-decimated, her head nearly severed in the process.
Despite its disgusting description, the Cursed Mop of the Women's Restroom was an incredibly potent weapon.
"Nice," Chen Shang muttered, glancing at the now-headless mop handle. With a chuckle, he casually tossed it toward Sister Zhang's broken form, hitting her in the face before continuing his escape.
Behind him, the iron door finally gave way. The human-spider tore through the shattered remains, scurrying along the walls at lightning speed, hot on Chen Shang's heels.
Bursting through the main entrance, Chen Shang quickly slammed the door shut behind him. He sprinted toward the front gate, his speed at its maximum.
However, unlike the reinforced back door, the front entrance was merely a heavy glass door. The human-spider smashed through it effortlessly, its monstrous body only briefly slowed as it resumed its relentless pursuit.
