As Chen Shang exited through the back door of Building B, he had expected to see yet another decrepit structure, oozing with eerie vibes. But the scene in front of him was entirely different from what he had imagined.

Behind Building B lay a small grove of trees, sparsely arranged so that the moonlight filtered through the branches, casting a serene glow over the area. The wind rustled the leaves gently, adding to the tranquility. Scattered across the ground were numerous mounds of earth, each with a simple wooden plank stuck in front of it. It was a makeshift graveyard, simplistic to the point that none of the graves had proper tombstones—just names roughly carved into the wooden planks.

Chen Shang walked further into the graveyard, crouching to read the names inscribed on the planks. From the descriptions, it became clear that these graves belonged to the hospital's staff—doctors, security guards, even the hospital director.

The recently dug earth around some of the graves indicated that the burials had happened not long ago. The grass hadn't even begun to grow back over the disturbed soil.

"This must have happened within the last three months," Chen Shang muttered to himself.

According to the records in the black notebook, the asylum had originally been a normal psychiatric hospital. The strange events had started three months ago, which coincided with the series of deaths.

Interestingly, while the graves were for the staff, there were none for the patients, despite the hospital having a large number of them. It seemed odd that none of the patients had been buried here, even though they likely suffered the highest mortality rate.

Perplexed, but with limited information to deduce anything concrete, Chen Shang put the mystery aside for now.

As he walked further into the graveyard, he stopped in front of the hospital director's grave, narrowing his eyes.

"If even the hospital director died three months ago… then who's running this place now? Who's posting those job notices? And why is this creepy asylum still operating, even recruiting new people like me to work here?"

[Whoa, that's eerie. The more you think about it, the creepier it gets!]

[What if the patients took over?]

[If the patients are running things, why are they still locked up in Building A and B?]

[This is giving me goosebumps…]

Chen Shang pondered the questions carefully, though he knew he had little time to dwell on them. It was already 4 AM, and by this time, he was supposed to be patrolling Building C. But unanswered questions and mysteries were the ultimate allure for someone like Chen Shang, who had no concept of fear.

"Given the way the patients in Buildings A and B are treated, it doesn't seem like they've taken over. If anyone's running this place, it's likely the supernaturally strong patients in Building C. But even they appear to be under some form of control. So, what or who took over here? Could it be the same entity that caused the asylum's downfall three months ago?"

Chen Shang's thoughts came to a halt as he lacked the necessary information to continue speculating. He slowly stood up and turned his gaze toward the depths of the forest, where he could faintly make out a small structure. That must be Building C.

He started walking toward it but paused as he passed another grave. This one was freshly dug, with no body inside. Glancing at the wooden plank marking the grave, he read the inscription:

"Grave of the unlucky night guard—Giles."

Chen Shang scoffed. "So, this is my grave, huh? They didn't even plan on letting me leave alive. Great."

He threw a glance at the grave before continuing his walk toward Building C.

Such graves didn't instill any sense of fear in him. To Chen Shang, they were just another piece of information: whoever was running the asylum had been expecting him and had already prepared a burial site for him. This meant that the true owner of the asylum, or at least its current manager, was still present within the hospital grounds.

Leaving the graveyard behind, Chen Shang emerged from the grove and finally got a full view of Building C.

It was nothing like the previous two buildings. In fact, it didn't even resemble a hospital. Instead, it looked more like a small cabin in the woods, only two stories tall and entirely made of wood. Despite its relatively new appearance, the building was covered in bloodstains and strange, erratic carvings.

"So, this building must have been constructed only three months ago, which explains why there was no prior mention of it. It only came into existence recently," Chen Shang murmured, eyes narrowing as he gazed at the ominous structure.

There was still some distance between him and the building, but even from here, his sixth sense was going haywire. His body tensed, his enhanced senses telling him that something dangerous was nearby.

This was proof that both his passive abilities—[Unlucky but Sharp] and [Refined Panic]—were active, warning him of the looming threat.

As Chen Shang carefully surveyed the cabin, he finally noticed something crucial: not a single light was coming from inside the building. In other words, the power system of Building C wasn't even functioning.
