Lin Chen did not speak, continuing his silent observation.

He noticed that the brick railing on the rooftop was unusually thick — usually about a dozen centimeters, but this one was nearly forty centimeters thick.

The height of the railing was normal, about 1.2 meters.

There were some broken bricks and gravel on top of the railing.

Lin Chen looked at the railing and asked, "Do you notice anything unusual about this rooftop railing?"

"It's thicker than usual," Xia Miaoyan immediately answered, nearly twice the thickness of a normal railing.

Zhang Tian'ai showed no special expression and said, "A colleague once asked the landlord about this. He said there were leftover bricks, so they made it thicker. Also, it's safer and can be used to dry things."

"Is there a problem with the railing?"

Lin Chen shook his head and remained silent. He was standing right at the spot where the deceased had fallen.

At that moment, footsteps came from the stairwell. Miao Yunfei and her team arrived.

When they reached Lin Chen's side, Miao Yunfei asked, "Lin Chen, are you really sure this wasn't suicide or an accident?"

Lin Chen turned and looked at Miao Yunfei's cold, beautiful face. He said, "One hundred percent sure. I was going to get involved in this case, but since your team took over and I don't like you, I don't want to get involved."

"If you find something suspicious, just say it. Don't play games here. Who knows if you're just bluffing?" Miao Yunfei sneered.

Lin Chen laughed, "That kind of provocation is low level. If you don't believe me, just assume I'm bluffing."

He looked up at the sky, "It's getting late. Let's find a place to eat. Miaoyan, Officer Zhang, are you coming?"

"Yes, yes!" Xia Miaoyan jumped beside Lin Chen eagerly.

Zhang Tian'ai had no hesitation either; since the case was with her team, it wasn't her concern now.

As Lin Chen reached the stairwell, he suddenly stopped and turned to Miao Yunfei, "Officer Miao, feel free to close this case as suicide or accident. After you close it, I'll reopen it and tell you the truth."

Miao Yunfei frowned sharply and shouted, "Are you threatening me?"

"No," Lin Chen shrugged, "You're the mayor's daughter. How could a commoner like me threaten you? If I reopen the case, at worst it'll be a wrongful conviction. With your dad around, what could happen to you?"

Lin Chen then walked away without hesitation.

Miao Yunfei stood there for a long time, thoroughly vexed by Lin Chen. She had endured a lot, but not as much as today.

"Leader Miao, that Lin Chen is too arrogant. Should we teach him a lesson?" A young detective approached her.

Miao Yunfei glanced at him sideways, "What do you plan to do?"

"Frame him, lock him up for a few days, or maybe I'll quit this uniform and give him a beating," the young detective said.

Zhang Tian'ai was the flower of the detective team, and many sought her attention. Miao Yunfei also had many suitors.

After all, her father was the mayor and Police Station chief of Tianhai City. Marrying her meant a promising future.

"Childish," Miao Yunfei sneered, leaving the young detective embarrassed.

She turned to look at the rooftop railing from which the deceased fell, wondering if she had really made a mistake — was it really murder?

But all the signs indicated the deceased wasn't murdered.

Why wouldn't that damn Lin Chen just say what he knows? Why play games with her?

Miao Yunfei clenched her fists, muttering, "Lin Chen, I really don't want to deal with you… but I…"

Lin Chen and Zhang Tian'ai with Xia Miaoyan went downstairs.

He said to the two women, "Wait here for me."

"Master, where are you going?" Xia Miaoyan asked.

Lin Chen didn't answer and quickly disappeared into the alley.

"That's strange, where is he going?" Zhang Tian'ai was puzzled.

After a while, Lin Chen returned without explanation and got into the police car with the two women.

Lin Chen sat in the driver's seat and asked Zhang Tian'ai for the keys.

"You can drive?" Zhang Tian'ai asked.

"Yes, just no license," Lin Chen replied.

Zhang Tian'ai handed him the keys, "Take it easy. Don't crash our official car."

Lin Chen smiled and started the car, driving back the way they came.

Zhang Tian'ai sat in the front passenger seat; Xia Miaoyan was in the back.

Xia Miaoyan leaned forward smiling, "Master, tell me about that…"

"Don't talk, don't distract me. You'll make me crash," Lin Chen said, eyes on the road.

Xia Miaoyan looked pitiful, and Zhang Tian'ai took a deep breath and asked, "Lin Chen, you said with just two points you can overturn all our investigation conclusions. What are those two points?"

"Don't talk. I'm driving," Lin Chen said without turning his head.

The two women exchanged helpless glances. Lin Chen was like this — if he didn't want to say, he wouldn't, no matter how much they asked.

At dinner, the two women kept their questions to themselves.

When they were nearly done eating, Lin Chen looked at Xia Miaoyan and asked, "Miaoyan, do you know anyone skilled in software development and website building?"

"Yes, Master. Why do you ask?" Xia Miaoyan replied curiously.
