In the Land of Birds' forest.
Tian Yuan darted through the trees with Anko cradled in his arms, but he could see the three Rock Ninja closing in behind them. And the distance kept shrinking.
Tian Yuan was relieved there were no Jonin among their pursuers, but these were no ordinary Chunin—likely elite even within that rank. Otherwise Roshi would not have chosen them to investigate the Raikage's disappearance.
Of the three, Tian Yuan could perhaps hold his own against one Rock Ninja—but the other two were beyond him. Uchiha Juken and Anko stood no chance. These were system-backed ninja from one of the Five Great Shinobi Villages, not mere wanderers. And even against common Chunin, Juken's Sharingan-fired ninjutsu only went so far.
Anko's strength was weakest of all—hence Tian Yuan's decision to carry her; otherwise she would have been overtaken long ago.
"You're still faster than me, even carrying someone," Uchiha Juken exclaimed in astonishment as he kept pace. Could this be Tian Yuan's true power? A peer of Kakashi.
"This won't do," Tian Yuan muttered, glancing at the pursuers. Sooner or later they would catch up. He could drop Anko and Juken and escape alone—but…
His lips curved. To defeat all three Rock Ninja, he would need to use two Senzu Beans—and he'd rather not waste them.
"Tian Yuan, let me go. You run!" Anko pleaded. She knew all three might die if they stayed together—and what if Orochimaru was in trouble?
"Don't be silly, Anko. I won't abandon you," Tian Yuan said firmly.
"Tian Yuan…" Anko's eyes shone with gratitude and conflict.
In that moment, only Tian Yuan could see his Player System interface emerge—revealing the high-definition video signal's source.
If he extracted something useful, he could turn the tide—and save his Senzu Beans. Those beans could save his life; future opportunities were uncertain. Even another Dragon Ball clip might yield any number of items.
"This video is Hokage Ninja," Tian Yuan whispered, and initiated the extraction.
He prayed for a helpful reward—perhaps a Mangekyo Sharingan to slay these Rock Ninja.
"Ding! Acquired Elite Chunin Experience Pack." Tian Yuan immediately used it.
Chakra surged through his body, flooding his mind with ninjutsu techniques and taijutsu forms, as if he had studied them firsthand. His Chakra reserves, taijutsu prowess, and physical strength all increased—fueling further abilities like Armament Haki.
An Elite Chunin pack wasn't the best—but it was far from useless. It would even allow him to stand against a standard Jonin, if he unleashed all his skills. The gap between Chunin and Jonin was vast—but his buff would be enough to face the three Rock Ninja.
"Ding! New mission: eliminate the three Rock Ninja behind you to obtain half a standard Dragon Ball video fragment."
"At last—another Dragon Ball fragment mission," Tian Yuan smiled. He had kept the Sand Ninja fragments from before, waiting until he could earn the standard fragment to combine them.
"Then I have no choice but to kill you all," he said with a cold grin.
Outnumbered three to one, the odds were clear.
Tian Yuan stopped and gently lowered Anko to the ground. "Juken, take Anko and flee. I'll handle the enemy."
"You're suicidal," Juken gasped. Three top-tier Chunin powered by tailed-beast Chakra were behind them.
"Relax—I'll catch up with you. Otherwise, they'll just overtake us," Tian Yuan said calmly.
"Go, Anko," Juken urged her.
"Tian Yuan, I'm staying!" Anko cried. She refused to let him die alone.
"Anko, nonsense. If you stay, you'll only slow me. I'll catch up—I promise," Tian Yuan said softly.
"Tian Yuan…" Anko clenched her teeth, tears brimming. She knew he spoke for her sake—and that her presence would only hinder him.
"Go now," Juken said sharply as the Rock Ninja closed in.
"Tian Yuan, you must return safely. If you die, I'll come find you," Anko called, and she and Juken dashed away.
"That's better," Tian Yuan whispered after them.
"One of them escaped—after them!" one Rock Ninja snarled, about to pursue.
A whirlwind of wind assaulted him.
"Konoha Great Whirlwind."
"Bam." He was sent flying.
"Shouldn't have let them go," Tian Yuan said, his aura radiating powerful Chunin-level Chakra.
