"Why has Tian Yuan gone out again? I'm so bored," Anko said to the boy beside her. "Juken, aren't you bored?"
Uchiha Juken glanced at Anko and replied calmly, "I can use this time to train my Chakra."
"Sensei Orochimaru, do you know what Tian Yuan went off to do?" Anko asked.
"Nothing much—perhaps he has some business of his own," Orochimaru replied with a gentle smile.
Tian Yuan pressed onward through the forest, and of course he had a reason for leaving Orochimaru's side. He had picked up an ordinary video signal not far from their position, so he had gone off alone to see what it contained.
Judging by the pattern of signals, the better the clip, the greater the danger—though not infallible, it was a useful rule of thumb. If it turned out to be a really good signal, like high-definition, he would definitely drag Orochimaru along. With Orochimaru present, facing a tough opponent would be easier.
If Orochimaru knew what Tian Yuan was thinking, would he simply eliminate him as an experimental specimen? He wasn't scheming against Tian Yuan—instead, Tian Yuan was scheming against him.
After a moment, Tian Yuan squinted at the ridge ahead. "This must be it," he murmured. "Looks like a bandit hideout, and the signal is coming from inside."
With that, Tian Yuan's figure blurred into a black shadow and he raced up the mountain. At the summit, it was indeed a bandit camp. Tian Yuan ignored the sentries and headed straight for the grandest wooden hall—their meeting place.
"This is it," Tian Yuan said, surveying the building. Though mostly made of wood, it was far more ornate than the surrounding huts. He slipped into the hall, stood in the center, and began receiving the signal on his player. The download was quick; within seconds it was complete.
"Let's see what this is," he said, opening the video.
"Jurassic World." Tian Yuan stared at the footage in surprise. "What could be valuable here? It's all just dinosaurs."
Could it be…? Tian Yuan guessed that a Jurassic World clip, being an ordinary video, would yield mundane items—or at best a dinosaur. If the clips were low quality, he might only get food or drink. High-definition videos were much harder to exploit.
Just as Tian Yuan prepared to extract, a dozen burly, fierce-looking men burst into the hall, laughing. They had been planning tomorrow's raid on the nearby town. Living here on the remote edge of the Land of Fire, far from Konoha Village, and not causing too much trouble, the bandits had grown complacent.
When they saw Tian Yuan inside, their expressions froze. "Who are you? What are you doing here?"
One man noticed his Headband. "Wait… that's a ninja's Headband!"
"Have we been discovered?" the scar-faced leader snarled, drawing a large sword.
"Ninja power is beyond anything you can imagine," Tian Yuan said coolly—and then he initiated the extraction.
"Ding! Obtained a robust Tyrannosaurus Rex." A flash of light, and a massive Tyrannosaurus Rex burst forth, overturning the wooden hall.
The beast, over ten meters long, reared and roared, its razor-sharp teeth bared and leathery hide bristling with strength.
The Tyrannosaurus Rex howled to the sky but took no further action—because Tian Yuan could control it, and he had given no attack order.
"Is this… ninja power?" the bandits stammered in terror. They had never seen such a creature. Their confidence evaporated.
"Run!" one of them screamed. The others scattered, realizing they could never withstand such force.
"Kill them," Tian Yuan ordered.
The Tyrannosaurus Rex rampaged through the camp, demolishing huts. Bandits were trampled or torn apart.
"Looks impressive against civilians, but it has no advantage against real ninja," Tian Yuan observed, shaking his head as he watched the beast's destruction. After all, a Summoning Animal from the shinobi world was far more formidable.
On a nearby peak, a pale-faced ninja watched the carnage below.
"A Summoning Animal, how interesting," he mused. "So this is why you came—to slay so-called villains. Tian Yuan, such deeds will earn my disdain."
Moonlight revealed the ninja's face: it was none other than his teacher, Orochimaru.
"Even better—this will be easier to control," Orochimaru said, nodding. His form dissolved into a swirl of white mist—an apparition clone.
"Sensei Orochimaru?" Tian Yuan's eyes glowed crimson as his two tomoe swirled in each iris. He had discovered Orochimaru's hidden presence.
Half an hour later, Orochimaru stood dumbfounded before Tian Yuan and his summoned Tyrannosaurus Rex.
