"Ding: Mission 'Defeat Sand Ninja' complete. You have obtained one half of a Standard Dragon Ball fragment." The mechanical voice sounded in Tian Yuan's ears.

Tian Yuan knew his mission was done. Not only had he gained Armament Haki here, but also a Dragon Ball fragment—even if only half a piece, it was gratifying.

"But that was costly." He surveyed the three fallen Sand Ninja. His Sharingan had already faded; earlier he'd used its genjutsu power to ensnare them in an illusion. Each thought he'd escaped, only to be caught and beheaded. Their heads had flown aloft, and each regained brief clarity to realize they were dead—never understanding what crimson power struck them. All three spy ninja from Sand Ninja Village had been wiped out.

"Phew—but that drained me." Tian Yuan tested his body. His Chakra was nearly exhausted, and his stamina severely spent.

"Armament Haki consumes physical strength." He flexed his fists. "I need to build my endurance to boost its power."

With no special methods available, he faced the difficulty of strengthening his young body—still not fully developed. Though he'd mastered new techniques, he could only improve them within natural limits. His Two-Tomoe Sharingan hinted at further growth—three tomoe, Mangekyo, and so on—but those lay in the distant future. Without Uchiha lineage or Eternal Mangekyo, he must rely on his System.

"Still, today's gains were good." A Haki-wielding Tian Yuan could now briefly match top-tier Chunin, even kill them with luck. That was his current maximum.

"Let's see their spoils." He approached the three dead Sand Ninja—Chunin of Hidden Sand Village, one a peak-tier warrior. Surely they carried valuables; as an as-yet-ungraduated student, he needed money.

"Hmm." He looked up. Four ninja were racing toward him: a blond youth, two boys, and a girl.

Recognizing the classic quartet, Tian Yuan's eyes lit. This formation was famous: Minato Namikaze, Uchiha Obito, Kakashi, and Nohara Rin.

Minato would become Fourth Hokage. Kakashi would later be Sixth Hokage. Though Rin died in the Third Great Ninja War, her passing birthed the powerful Uchiha Obito, key to the Nine-Tails attack and Fourth Great Ninja War. Their fates shaped Hokage history.

"Who are you?" Tian Yuan asked warily.

"Hey, kid—look at our headbands. Of course we're Konoha ninja." Uchiha Obito grinned, goggles gleaming. "Are you from Konoha too?"

"A Konoha ninja?" Tian Yuan nodded. "I'm a student at Konoha Ninja Academy. I'll apply for graduation this year."

"A Konoha Ninja Academy student?" Obito's jaw dropped. "So you killed these Sand Ninja?"

Obito had noticed their inverted-exclamation headbands. Any Sand Ninja venturing into the Land of Fire must be Chunin at least—Genin rarely survived.

"Could they have been Genin?" Obito wondered aloud.

"We are Konoha ninja. I am Minato Jonin Namikaze; these are my students: Uchiha Obito, Kakashi, and Nohara Rin." Minato smiled warmly. "May we examine these fallen ninja?"

"Of course, Minato Jonin." Tian Yuan agreed.

"Kakashi, see if they bear any secrets." Minato instructed.

"Yes, Minato-sensei." Kakashi knelt to probe the bodies for useful information.

"What's your name? You defeated three Chunin—impressive, rivaling me." Obito bounded forward.

"I am Tian Yuan."

"Tian Yuan, how old are you?"

"Eight."

"Eight! You're younger than me—call me Brother Obito." Obito laughed. "At eight, you have this strength—amazing."

Tian Yuan stared at Obito's familiar brashness—that was young Uchiha Obito.

"Obito, Tian Yuan is stronger than you." Kakashi interjected. "All three were Chunin."

"What?" Obito gasped. A mere Academy student slaying three Chunin? Preposterous!

"Indeed. They were Konoha spies. We recovered their intel, which will help root out traitors." Minato nodded. "But Tian Yuan, how did you encounter them?"

"I went exploring and unexpectedly ran into them." Tian Yuan shrugged—he'd simply been signal-hunting.

"Ha! You performed a great service." Minato laughed. In his eyes, Tian Yuan could rival Kakashi as a prodigy—eleven-year-old Kakashi nearly wielded Jonin power already.
