Wang stood before Zhao Yu, his expression grave as if someone owed him millions. He exuded the aura of a master.

"Zhao Yu," he began evenly, "do you know where our Magician powers come from?"

"Multiverse energy," Zhao Yu replied respectfully.

Kamar-Taj Magic differs from other spells: we draw on the Multiverse's energy to fight, and sometimes we borrow the power of mighty Deities—much like Scarlet Witch. Many of our Magic rely on forces wielded by the Marvel Universe's greatest figures.

"That's right," Wang nodded. "Multiverse energy, boundless and infinite, holds endless secrets—and we are but explorers. Along that path stand countless predecessors whose immense power made them Deities. At times, we must call upon their strength."

Zhao Yu's eyes shone with anticipation. Anyone who had attained godhood in the Marvel world was no lightweight—save for the loudmouthed Thor clan of Asgard, most were true heavyweights. Scarlet Witch's Chaos Magic, for instance, tapped Deity power and wielded unparalleled force.

"I will teach you today a Magic that draws from a Deity's might," Wang continued. "The name of that Deity has been lost to time—thus we call it Ring of Raggadorr."

With a gesture, he summoned a red Magic Shield shimmering before him. This shield was far stronger than the basic Magic Shield—Doctor Strange himself used it to withstand Thanos's blows. Ring of Raggadorr was reserved only for the Grand Sorcerer and a select few senior Sorcerers.

Yet Zhao Yu had progressed so swiftly that Wang feared his pupil might drain him of secrets in no time. He would rather arm Zhao Yu with something powerful enough to occupy him until the Grand Sorcerer's return—then he could defer teaching and ease his own pressure.

Seeing the eager light in Zhao Yu's eyes, Wang stifled a grin, thinking, He's in for a shock.

"Learning Ring of Raggadorr isn't like other spells," Wang warned expressionlessly. "You must recite the correct incantation to gain the Deity's permission. Early on, communing with that power is difficult—do not be discouraged; practice repeatedly."

Zhao Yu listened intently.

"Ding!"

"Your Ring of Raggadorr has entered Satori under Wang's instruction."

"Your Ring of Raggadorr proficiency has improved."

Looking at the progress bar, Zhao Yu marveled: as expected of Deity-derived Magic, it was more challenging than Magic Shield. Even with Wang's guidance, it required a full half hour to learn. Incredible.

Unaware of Zhao Yu's thoughts, Wang might have struck him with his staff had he known—half an hour! Many Sorcerers could never master this spell in a lifetime. First, only those with tremendous magical capacity can construct the Ring of Raggadorr framework. Second, one needs immense mental focus to channel Multiverse energy. Finally, one must satisfy the Deity's criteria. Though the process is algorithmic rather than literal communication, it remains arduous—hence the spell's exclusivity. It can deflect attacks even from cosmic-tier foes like Abomination; Thanos's strikes cannot breach it.

How could such Magic be easy to learn?

Wang watched as Zhao Yu traced glowing circles in the air. That's as it should be for an apprentice… learning Ring of Raggadorr should take time. Soon, the Grand Sorcerer would return, and Wang could hand the boy back for instruction, alleviating his burden. A smile crossed his face.

But moments later, that smile froze. Wang's eyes locked on Zhao Yu's hand as it spun—red runes flared into being, forming deeper patterns—and finally, a full red Magic Shield shimmered into existence.

That was… Ring of Raggadorr!

Though it flickered with blue sparks—indicating instability—it was unmistakably the Deity-derived shield. Wang's mind reeled. How is this possible?

He knew Zhao Yu's mental and magical power rivaled that of a senior Sorcerer—and Kamar-Taj cultivation of basic Magic already boosted physical might—but even seasoned veterans struggled to learn Ring of Raggadorr. Yet here Zhao Yu stood: an apprentice mastering it in under half an hour.

Wang's face twisted in bitter disbelief. He longed to cry out, Zhao Yu, please stop studying! At this rate, Kamar-Taj will be emptied of its power!

But he could not. As Grand Sorcerer, he must maintain composure. Words failed him.

Zhao Yu turned, noticing Wang's shifting expression. "Grand Sorcerer, is something wrong?" he asked uncertainly.

"Nothing is wrong—you've done very well," Wang finally said, drawing a deep breath. He wanted to say, You're too good—don't learn any more! but he could not. As Kamar-Taj's Grand Sorcerer, he had to preserve his dignity.

Calming himself, Wang reminded himself silently: This child was Kamar-Taj's hope, its astounding genius.
