"Cousin?"

Lin Sheng hesitated, unsure of what to say. Should Chen Yun buy it? After all, the boss had just called it a pseudo-legendary Pokémon!

Judging by Gu Xin's demeanor, it didn't seem like he was lying. But sixty million? That wasn't pocket change—it was the price of a high-end sports car!

A pseudo-legendary Pokémon, though…

"Wait! Boss, what about your Diancie?"

As Lin Sheng stared at the image of Larvitar in the Pokédex, something clicked in his mind. He looked toward Gu Xin and then at the Diancie perched on the counter. Wasn't it also a living, breathing Legendary Pokémon?

If he remembered correctly, the Pokédex had mentioned that Diancie was classified as a mythical Pokémon!

"Ah, Mr. Lin noticed? That's right, Diancie is indeed a type of Legendary Pokémon," Gu Xin replied, smiling graciously.

While Diancie was technically classified as a mythical Pokémon, it was fair to group it under the larger umbrella of Legendary Pokémon.

Hearing this, Chen Yun turned his gaze to Diancie, astonished.

"Diancie hails from the mythical Diamond Domain and possesses the ability to create diamonds, including the most beautiful and eternal Sacred Diamonds," Gu Xin explained.

"Diancie, say hello to our guests," Gu Xin added, smiling as he addressed the Pokémon.

Say hello?

Lin Sheng and Chen Yun froze, but in the next instant…

"Greetings, dear guests~ I am Diancie."

A graceful, melodious feminine voice suddenly echoed throughout the shop, reaching the ears of the two men.

Lin Sheng's eyes widened in disbelief, and Chen Yun's pupils contracted sharply.

Silence.

The air grew still.

Gu Xin watched the two with a knowing smile, while Diancie tilted her head quizzically, seemingly puzzled by their lack of response.

How rude! Diancie thought, pouting slightly.

"This… this… this…"

After a long moment, Lin Sheng finally came back to his senses. He pointed a trembling finger at Diancie, stammering incoherently.

What the hell?!

Diancie spoke? Using human language?!

Am I seeing ghosts?!

"Sir, pointing at a lady like this is very impolite," Diancie remarked, her silvery voice carrying a hint of disapproval.

"Ah! My apologies… Wait, what?!" Lin Sheng hastily lowered his hand, only to realize Diancie had spoken again!

Chen Yun said nothing, but the beads of sweat forming on his forehead betrayed his inner turmoil.

Good heavens.

It was 2202. Humanity ruled the Earth. There were no natural predators—none! And never before had there been any creature capable of speaking human language. Human intelligence was humanity's crowning achievement!

But now…

"There's no need to be so surprised, gentlemen. Pokémon possess extraordinary intelligence. Diancie isn't speaking in human language per se," Gu Xin explained with a chuckle, observing their reactions.

"But…" Lin Sheng began, still struggling to process what had happened.

"Certain Psychic-type Pokémon are capable of telepathic communication. This form of interaction transcends the barriers of language and species, allowing for mind-to-mind dialogue. That's why you can understand Diancie's words, though it doesn't mean she's using human speech," Gu Xin elaborated patiently.

"In addition, many Legendary Pokémon can use telepathy, so there's nothing strange about this," he added with a smile.

"Incredible. Absolutely incredible," Chen Yun murmured in amazement. Now that Gu Xin mentioned it, he realized Diancie hadn't moved her mouth at all while "speaking."

"Boss, what would the price be if someone were to draw a Legendary Pokémon?" Chen Yun asked after a brief pause, his curiosity piqued.

"Legendary Pokémon?" Gu Xin chuckled, shaking his head.

"Even the lowest-tier Legendary Pokémon wouldn't be priced below five hundred million. As for those revered as deities, their value can't be measured in mere currency," he said with a faint smile.

What Gu Xin referred to as "lowest-tier Legendary Pokémon" were Ultra Beasts like Nihilego and Guzzlord, which were also categorized as Legendary Pokémon.

As for true legends like Ho-Oh or Lugia? Would anyone dare buy them even if they were for sale? Well, perhaps someone would.

But capturing such Pokémon and getting them into a Poké Ball? That was a whole other challenge.

"Boss, can you give me some time? I've decided to buy Larvitar," Chen Yun said firmly, his mind made up.

Having witnessed Diancie's abilities, Chen Yun now realized that Pokémon's potential far exceeded anything he had imagined.

"Trust me, this will be the wisest decision of your life," Gu Xin said sincerely.

"I believe so too," Chen Yun replied, a confident smile spreading across his face. He nodded apologetically to Gu Xin before pulling out his phone to call his father.

Sixty million was a hefty sum, and while selling his company and adding his savings might cover it, he wasn't foolish enough to do that.

Selling his company to buy a Pokémon? That'd be ridiculous.

While Chen Yun made his call, Gu Xin headed to the back room to retrieve Larvitar.

"So, this is Larvitar?" Lin Sheng said curiously, staring at the small green dinosaur-like Pokémon trailing behind Gu Xin. This was a walking sixty million yuan!

"Yuu~"

Larvitar tilted its head up and gazed at Lin Sheng with wide, innocent eyes, letting out a soft, childlike chirp.

Chen Yun returned from his call, though the funds would take some time to transfer. He stepped closer to Larvitar, his eyes lighting up at the sight of the adorable Pokémon.

"Boss, may I touch it?" Chen Yun asked, unable to resist its charm.

"Of course. While Larvitar will grow into a powerful and imposing Pokémon, as a baby, it's incredibly cute," Gu Xin said, crouching to rub Larvitar's soft cheek.

Larvitar's final evolution, Tyranitar, was one of the most iconic and imposing Pokémon. But as a Larvitar? It was irresistibly adorable.

Receiving Gu Xin's permission, Chen Yun carefully approached Larvitar, who showed no fear of strangers.

"Hello, little one," Chen Yun said softly, extending a hand toward its head.

His hand trembled slightly, betraying his nervousness.

Fortunately, Larvitar seemed to sense his goodwill and made no attempt to pull away.

As Chen Yun gently stroked the small horn on its head, Larvitar gazed back at him with innocent curiosity, making his lips curl into a warm smile.

So cute!
