"How dare he hang up on me!" Wannie nearly popped her eyes out, staring at her phone with an expression that looked as if she would crush it in her hand.

"He probably won't contact you again," Ethan Wu remarked.

It was as if Wannie hadn't heard him; she muttered curses under her breath and quickly dialed Wally Hu's number again.

"Sorry, the number you dialed is currently unavailable…" The call couldn't go through.

She had been blocked!

As a professional gold-digger, Wally Hu knew the temperament of spoiled young ladies like Wannie well. Once caught, it was crucial to withdraw immediately and get as far away as possible.

If not, Wannie's revenge would be severe!

Listening to the sweet but unyielding tone of the automated message, Wannie's face turned green, and she nearly threw her phone in anger.

She now understood that Ethan had told the truth. Wally Hu wasn't at her place. He must have taken her money and gone off to another girlfriend.

"Bastard!" Wannie gritted her teeth and swung her hands wildly in the air, then stomped down the stairs furiously, taking two steps at a time, almost at a run.

She was off to confront Wally Hu.

In her rage, she seemed to have completely forgotten that she originally came to confront Ethan Wu and demand justice for her friend. Now, all she could think about was finding Wally Hu and tearing him apart.

She even forgot to wait for Chloe Mu, leaving her standing outside Ethan's door. That's how furious she was.

Actually, if it had just been cheating, Wannie wouldn't have been this angry.

She would have simply broken up without hesitation.

But Ethan's earlier words made her realize that it wasn't just a case of a boyfriend being unfaithful. Wally Hu had approached her from the beginning because of her money, using her like an ATM to party with his friends and to support other women!

Wannie's hurried footsteps quickly faded.

Chloe Mu felt awkward. She hadn't intended to cause trouble today; it was Wannie who had dragged her along. Now, being left alone with Ethan Wu, she didn't quite know what to say.

"I'll… um…" Chloe pointed down the stairs, hesitating as if wanting to explain, but she was anxious to catch up with Wannie to prevent anything from happening.

"Go ahead, I understand," Ethan said with a smile, not waiting for her to finish.

Chloe's heart warmed. Ethan's words, "I understand," saved her from having to explain, giving her a sense that he somehow "got her."

Chloe was always responsible for her own actions.

She wasn't the kind of girl who would demand something from Ethan just because she had given him her "first time."

Chloe never believed Ethan's talk about reliving the same day repeatedly. She had only misjudged his identity, thinking he had been arranged by Wannie. That had been her assumption alone, as Ethan had never claimed to have come on anyone's behalf.

Last night had been consensual.

Chloe had never intended to cause Ethan trouble; she just wanted to spend more time with him.

Because being with him was simply too fun!

"Well, I'll go then." Chloe smiled, took a few steps closer, tiptoed to give Ethan a kiss on the cheek, then turned and ran downstairs after Wannie.

Just then, footsteps echoed again from downstairs.

Chloe had just reached the landing when she saw Wannie charging back up the stairs. The moment she saw Ethan, she yelled, "What's that vixen's address again? Say it one more time!"

Ethan had given her the address earlier, but she hadn't remembered it.

"Unit 3, Apartment 201, 19 Fuyuan Road," Ethan replied. Although Wannie had insulted him earlier, he couldn't resist helping—or perhaps he just enjoyed the drama.

"Got it, damn it! I'm gonna…" Wannie cursed as she turned around to rush back down the stairs, still brimming with rage. This time, she didn't forget Chloe, pulling her along as they ran.

Ethan watched from his door as their footsteps gradually faded away.

"Young girls," he chuckled to himself, shaking his head as he shut the door.

Back inside, he turned on the light, changed into slippers, tossed his suit jacket onto the arm of a chair, and settled into the sofa, sighing deeply in relaxation.

The first day of his new life had been exciting and fulfilling!

Leaning his head back, Ethan thought for a moment before pulling out his phone and quickly typing out a message.

Dragged along by Wannie, Chloe Mu was nearly losing her shoes.

"Slow down, Wannie!" Chloe yelled.

"Hurry, Chloe! We're catching a cheater! Oh, and give me the taser!"

The two made it to the street outside the alley just as a taxi passed by. Wannie flagged it down, gave the driver the address, then took out her phone and began calling people.

In her fiery temperament, Wannie was fearless enough to confront Wally Hu on her own!

However, Ethan's earlier warning had left an impression on her, so this time she decided to gather a group.

Chloe watched her friend as she made her calls, a bit worried. She wasn't afraid of much, but she was genuinely concerned that Wannie's rage might lead to serious trouble, maybe even violence, if they really caught Wally Hu.

Suddenly, Chloe remembered something.

She glanced out the back window, looking at the alleyway they had left far behind.

Once again, she had forgotten to ask Ethan for his contact information.

Ding!

Her phone vibrated with a message. She looked down to see a text from an unknown number with just five words: "This is my number."

Blinking, Chloe smiled and saved the number under the name: Ethan Wu.

Half an hour after Chloe and Wannie left, Ethan went downstairs again.

He had changed into his old college workout clothes.

He was heading out for some exercise.

Physically, Ethan was already in excellent shape. Though he looked lean, he was quite healthy and didn't necessarily need intensive workouts to stay fit. Maintaining his physique and staying in top form each day came naturally.

But!

Ethan didn't want to waste his skills.

By "skills," he meant his physical abilities.

Take combat, for example.

He had trained extensively, possessing advanced fighting skills and an uncanny reaction time.

In his current condition, even ten or more people at once wouldn't be a match for him.

He could dodge attacks with agile footwork and body movement, like a professional boxer. An average person facing a professional boxer would struggle even to land a hit, as boxers can dodge attacks by simply moving their heads and bodies. Ordinary people have no chance of hitting a boxer's head.

Ethan could do the same, and his strikes would be almost impossible to avoid.

Even against a crowd, as long as he didn't get surrounded and kept moving, he could take them down one by one until his stamina ran out.

However, no matter how proficient he was in combat, he was still limited by his physical condition.

In the loop, only his mind, memory, knowledge, and reflexes could accumulate. His physical body would reset entirely.

So, Ethan decided to start working out regularly from today onward!

To make himself even stronger!

A little over two hours later, deep into the night at around ten o'clock, Ethan jogged back into the alley, slowing his pace to a walk. He was drenched in sweat, his clothes clinging to him, but he felt great!

He didn't care if his legs would ache the next day—he'd walk it off.

Before entering his building, he slowed and frowned slightly, then went inside.

He sensed he was still being watched—people had been tailing him all day.

It was getting annoying.

Ethan knew who had sent the people following him, so he wasn't worried about any threat. He assumed they'd end their surveillance once they knew where he lived.

But now, it seemed like they wouldn't give up.

Back in his apartment, Ethan took a shower, then, still in his bathrobe, walked to the window, peeking out into the alley while dialing a number on his phone.

The call quickly connected.

"Hello?" The other voice was cold and distant.

"You've been having people tail me all day. Enough already?" Ethan asked calmly.
