In the game world, Luo Shu was deep in thought.

Someone had deliberately left the body at the entrance of the T Plaza, a place Yvonne He frequented, skinned it, dressed it in her clothes, and even placed her handbag nearby. The setup practically screamed, "This is Yvonne He!"

But… why?

To swap identities? Or was it…

An elaborate escape plan?

Without hesitation, Luo Shu pulled out a scalpel from his equipment bar and cut along the old suture line on the body with a swift slice.

With a sickening squelch, he reopened the corpse for reexamination. Many viewers who'd been eating dinner quietly set their food aside.

The previous autopsy made his work quick. Luo Shu finished and stowed his scalpel just as the hourly detonator alarm chimed.

"Only 22 hours left…"

He frowned at the open, dissected abdomen and casually shoved the corpse back into the freezer drawer. There was no time to ask a doctor to re-stitch the body. For Luo Shu, respecting the dead was irrelevant.

Peering down at his phone, he compared the forensic report with his observations.

Her cause of death was puzzling: cardiac arrest caused by electrocution.

But frankly, her heart failure didn't even matter—she would have died regardless.

Upon closer inspection, he noted that her organs appeared semi-cooked, the injuries resembling those from a weak lightning strike.

The forensic report estimated the voltage was between 5,000 and 6,000 volts, with a current of about 15 amps running from head to toe for five seconds. While not especially high, the duration was curious.

What kind of lightning strikes for five seconds straight?

Who is she, some divine being undergoing tribulation?

But aside from lightning, he couldn't imagine what kind of weapon could cause this.

There was a knock.

The door opened a crack, and Frederick Chen poked his head in. "How's it going? Hey, where are the others?"

Luo Shu walked out. "Let's go find Mr. He. I've got something."

"Really?!" Frederick feigned excitement, though he hardly cared. Still, as Hunter He's loyal dog, he kept up appearances.

Luo Shu nodded. "They found other leads and went to check. I need to share this directly with Mr. He."

"Alright, let's go!" Frederick led him back to the car, where Luo Shu settled in the backseat, preparing his words—and a little scheme.

He checked the gun Hunter He had provided, complete with a silencer. Not all weapons in the game came with descriptions or guarantees, so he wanted to be sure it worked properly.

He rolled down the window, aiming playfully like a child with a toy gun, even making "biu biu" sounds under his breath.

Frederick watched in the rearview mirror, amused. "That's a Walther P99, uses a 9mm round with a special silencer. If you shoot someone you don't like on the street, no one will hear it. It's quieter than a fly."

Frederick didn't expect Luo Shu's response: "Oh? I'll test it on that fat lady by the McDonald's—she's glaring at me."

Luo Shu aimed and pulled the trigger without hesitation.

The shot hit a nearby metal street sign with a soft pop, almost silent amid the sounds of Central.

Frederick's face went pale as he checked the rearview mirror, his hands shaking. "Mr. Luo… did you really just shoot? On the street?"

Luo Shu, still peering out, replied, "Yep."

A shiver ran down Frederick's spine. "Did… did you hit her?"

Frederick imagined chaos: a bloody mess in front of the McDonald's, people fleeing in horror. But by now, they were too far to see the result.

Luo Shu checked again, realizing his terrible aim had missed the mark. "Nope. Terrible shot."

Frederick sighed in relief, deciding to keep quiet. He absently touched the detonator hidden in his jacket. If the timing were right… maybe it'd be best to blow this madman up.

After another test shot, Luo Shu was satisfied that the gun and silencer were genuine. He counted the rounds as they returned to the Honghu Industrial Tower.

Frederick escorted him to the 25th floor, Hunter He's office suite—a space he often used as his second home, as the underground king of Harbor Island practically lived at the office.

As the elevator doors opened, they were met by a guard, one Luo Shu recognized from earlier.

The guard extended a hand, blocking them. "What do you want? Mr. He's already resting."

Frederick moved to smooth things over. "Mr. Luo was sent to investigate Miss He's case and has urgent findings to report directly to Mr. He."

The guard, arms crossed and towering, shook his head coldly. "No way. During his rest hours, no one disturbs him."

Frederick turned to Luo Shu with a smirk. "Ah… Guess we'll just have to wait until morning. If anything goes wrong, it's on this guy here to answer for it."

Luo Shu scoffed. "It's only 11. Mr. He, a man of his stature, goes to bed this early?"

The guard, annoyed, retorted, "Mr. He's daughter just died! He—"

Luo Shu raised his voice on purpose, "Mr. He's daughter isn't dead! She's probably alive and kicking, throwing a wild pool party with dozens of musclemen to celebrate her freedom from his control!"
