The scene before Luo Shu flashed, transforming like a sequence straight from a horror movie! The clean, bright bathroom was replaced by a dim, blood-soaked vision of the same space. A long-haired woman lay on the floor, clutching her mouth, crawling toward the toilet, reaching in as though to retrieve something. She moaned in utter agony, her cries almost primal.

In a split second, the vision faded, and reality returned.

"Whoa…" Luo Shu muttered with a tinge of excitement, the anomaly providing yet another useful vision. He realized now that the Anomalous Code was like a cheat code, allowing him brief glimpses into significant events of the past. It was like having extra clues in a game of detective.

Pacing around the toilet, Luo Shu held his chin, deep in thought. "She was trying to grab something… which means something important is here."

Kneeling by the toilet, he leaned in as if to investigate further but hesitated, settling into an awkward squat instead. He decided not to risk it; the real dangers were often those that remained unseen.

With a final glance at the suspiciously rippling water, he walked out. As he closed the door, a thin, red, sinewy object briefly peeked from the drain, twisting before slipping back inside.

Meanwhile, Luo Shu's hesitation left the audience in heated debate:

[What's he doing?]

[Maybe he was going to use the toilet, but then realized there's no paper?]

[LOL, don't laugh; it could be true.]

[Nah, he seems to suspect something's off in there but doesn't want to risk it.]

[He's just a regular guy. The bathroom doesn't seem suspicious to me.]

Luo Shu searched the kitchen next, finding little in the cupboards or fridge. He twisted the faucet; the water was out.

"No drinks or water…" he murmured, thinking of his teammate. He wasn't thirsty himself—he just thought she could be useful bait for whatever lurked in the toilet. Maybe if she drank enough water, she'd need to use it.

And whether she got hurt in the process… well, that was just the price she'd have to pay.

His eyes lit up when he spotted an aluminum kettle on the dining table, conveniently placed next to a cup. With a smirk, he picked it up, casually unscrewing the lid to peer inside.

Inside, staring right back at him, was a pair of eyeballs.

"An unexpected surprise!" Luo Shu chuckled, pulling out the squishy orbs. They were exactly what he needed: the hollow-eyed Suit Ghost's missing eyes.

The description popped up in his item menu:

[Item: A Pair of Highly Nearsighted Eyeballs]

[Note: Take one last look at your child.]

Perhaps the water was to rinse them? After a moment, he poured some of the water into the cup and headed back to Sylas, who was still unconscious on the floor.

"Hey, wake up, you idiot," he murmured, pinching her nose until she jolted awake, gasping for air.

Dazed, Sylas blinked up at him, still half-lost in the haze of her dreams. She saw Luo Shu's gentle smile and the glass of water he offered her.

"Here, drinks some water."

In a fog of gratitude, still parched from earlier, Sylas accepted the cup and downed it without a second thought.

"Ah… thanks," she muttered, as he helped her to her feet. "Where'd you find water?"

"From the kettle," he replied, pointing at the table.

She nodded absently and, seeing him walk away, scrambled to keep up. "Hey, wait up! Don't leave me alone! And, uh… where's that head?"

"It's hanging out on the balcony for now," he answered.

She hesitated. "Uh…"

"Where are you headed?" she asked, sensing that he had a destination in mind. "Did you find something?"

He stopped at the doorway of a small bedroom and turned to her. "Just don't pass out again. There's something lurking in here."

Sylas froze, instinctively reaching for her gun.

Luo Shu sighed, rolling his eyes before entering. He wasn't surprised to find a new entity in the room—this time a little girl in a white dress standing by the window, her back to him, her posture half-hidden by fluttering curtains.

Sylas, trembling, whispered, "What's she doing?"

"Hide and seek," Luo Shu replied, matter-of-factly. "Could be a memory she's replaying from life."

In the chat, comments flew in:

[Honestly, if he hadn't said it, I wouldn't have seen it as hide and seek, but now it fits perfectly.]

[It's not just about IQ; his mind just works differently from ours.]

[Reminds me of something I heard: Sometimes the best detectives are the ones who think like criminals.]

Without missing a beat, Luo Shu pulled the curtain aside. Behind it was the transparent figure of the headless ghost child. Seeing him, she panicked and scurried away.

Luo Shu reached out to grab her, but his hand passed through; she was purely spectral, impossible to touch.

With lightning speed, her headless body bolted through the walls, darting out of the room and back toward the living room.

Sylas somehow managed not to pass out this time. "Are we… chasing her?"

"Why would we?" Luo Shu replied, strolling out calmly. "What, are you going to shoot her?"

Sylas frowned. "So… we just saw her, but we're doing nothing? What's the plan?"

Luo Shu handed her another glass of water. "Just drink up; you'll need it."
