Over the course of a year since Fang Chen arrived in the capital of the Cloud Dragon Empire, he himself hadn't changed much, but his impact on the empire was substantial.

For example, Fang Chen would occasionally wander the streets, which initially terrified everyone.

Even the imperial city's security squad was dispatched. They only calmed down after spotting the emblem of the Grand Princess on his tail—and that, paired with Fang Chen not displaying any aggression, helped settle things.

Originally, the little girl had wanted to hang the emblem around his neck, but as a noble Dragonkin, how could he tolerate something like that dangling from his neck? So, with righteous indignation, Fang Chen wrapped it around his tail instead.

After that, he strolled the streets every few days to eat and drink, living a leisurely life.

At first, everyone was nervous. After all, standing before them was an Earth Lizard, the symbol of violence among seventh-tier beasts—who wouldn't be scared?

But gradually, they… got used to it. Yes, they gradually became accustomed.

Now, seeing Fang Chen's elegant movements, not only were they unafraid, they even found it entertaining to comment on him.

I mean, have you ever seen a magical beast that queues up? One that has facial expressions? One that's popular among both humans and magical beasts? Probably not!

From initial fear, to lingering fear, to eventual normalcy—that's what they called being unfazed by the strange.

Even though he ate a lot, he never stole or snatched. The two attendants trailing behind him 24/7 would always pay the bill, and everything would be charged to the Grand Princess's palace anyway.

"Huwaaaah~~~~!" Fang Chen walked back from the shops with a leisurely air.

His face showed a very human-like expression of contentment as he strolled through the palace gates, a bottle of wine casually held in one claw.

"........." Though this wasn't the first time she'd seen this, the Grand Princess still twitched slightly at the sight.

"You really are living the life, huh~! Fei'er's magical pet has been hanging around you all day!"

The Grand Princess, Yun Ying, spoke to Fang Chen with exasperation. As she spoke, a soft and adorable cat leaped up—a white-and-black Vertical Cloud Cat.

This was the very same magical pet that the Second Princess had chosen. Among magical pets, it was known for its cloud-like agility and speed.

"Gah~!" Fang Chen's eyes curved slightly when he saw the Vertical Cloud Cat. He bent down and reached out his finger to play with the little cat. Even when he was human, he had liked cats.

Though he liked both cats and dogs, he never had the spare funds to raise one… maybe a rabbitfish would've been possible.

Watching Fang Chen happily wag the cat around with his claws, Yun Ying curled her lips.

"Hey, you still haven't agreed to today's duel!" Yun Ying said with an annoyed look.

Fang Chen rolled his eyes. Ever since that initial incident, this girl had been challenging him to a duel every single day.

He kept brushing her off at first, thinking she was just a bit upset.

But he hadn't expected her to be so stubborn—she came for a duel every day.

"Meow~~~~~!" At that moment, the cat rubbed against Fang Chen's leg again, bringing a joyful look to his eyes.

He squatted down once more to play with it, completely ignoring the increasingly agitated princess.

"Argh! Fine! Don't blame me for playing dirty then!!! Take this!!!" she shouted, lifting her longsword and charging at Fang Chen. Without even looking, he casually flicked his tail.

In a flash, the sword was knocked out of the Grand Princess's hands—instantly deciding the outcome.

Staring at her fallen sword again, the Grand Princess sank into gloom, her face full of frustration.

"Defeated… again! When will I ever beat you and ride into battle myself?!" she muttered, looking at Fang Chen like he was a heartless jerk.

Fang Chen was unmoved, still joyfully flicking the cat. Seeing her plan fail, Yun Ying could only sigh in frustration.

She pulled out a beast saddle from who knows where and said, "I'm your master now, right? What if you don't cooperate when we're on the battlefield? Shouldn't we practice a bit first? Come on, let me ride you—just this once!"

That was her true intention.

And it was about time. Thanks to her powerful bloodline and talent, she had reached the fourth tier in just a year.

But even so, she was no match for Fang Chen. Ordinarily, someone of her age reaching the fourth tier would be considered a once-in-a-generation genius—and rightfully so.

Most people had just started cultivating and were barely at the first tier. The diligent might reach the second, and the gifted could hit the third. Only prodigies made it to the fourth.

As for the fifth tier… sorry, the youngest achievers were usually in their thirties.

So, for now, the Grand Princess held the record. Of course, in Fang Chen's eyes, she was just a typical soon-to-be face-slapped side character—made to be beaten by the real protagonist.

"It's been a year! Can't you at least let me ride you once?!" she shouted angrily, tossing the saddle onto the ground. Fang Chen looked at it with interest.

Yep, he definitely liked watching her get angry—Fang Chen thought with a mischievous grin.

"Big Sis~! Have you seen my magical pet?" came a sweet voice from outside.

"She's here. Your little white one's been hanging around here again," Yun Ying replied with a helpless sigh, showing the same expression as always—utterly fed up.

If she'd known, she would've chosen a properly aged magical pet to train. Why had she picked such a freak?

"Little White! Come home now! Stop hanging around Ugly!" Second Princess Yun Fei'er, with her long pink hair, called out.

Just like her looks, she was sweet, lovable, and the emperor's favorite daughter.

"Meow—!" But Little White still clung to the back of Fang Chen's leg, clearly unwilling to return.

From its point of view, going home meant putting on all those clothes—it was just too much trouble.

It looked warily at its original owner, completely ignoring her supposed authority.

"Ugh!" Yun Fei'er puffed her cheeks in frustration, hands on her hips, storming over. Little White's fur immediately stood on end.

"Hmm…" Fei'er froze in an awkward dilemma, while Fang Chen's lips curled upward in amusement.

"Ugly"—that was the nickname she had given him, referring to the fact that Earth Lizards were undeniably ugly in appearance.

Even with Fang Chen's aura now brimming with dignity and might, he was still, ultimately, an Earth Lizard.

So it made sense that Yun Fei'er would keep calling him Ugly.
