"Amphitrite, isn't that your husband, Poseidon?"
Bolos and The Queen of the Seas had just set foot on land when they ran into the very man they had hoped to avoid. Both were slightly nervous, fearing their affair had been exposed.
But they quickly noticed that Poseidon hadn't seen them at all. His gaze was fixated on a mare ahead of him—a mare with full hips and sleek limbs, exuding both grace and vigor.
The mare seemed to be fleeing from Poseidon, galloping ahead at full speed.
Poseidon, however, looked like he had spotted a treasure and was chasing it with utter devotion.
"Why is he so obsessed with a mare?"
Amphitrite was stunned. Ever since Poseidon submitted to Zeus, he had changed his ways and begun emulating Zeus, seeking out beautiful goddesses and mortal women to impregnate. But this was the first time Amphitrite had heard of her husband developing a fetish for mares.
And yet, judging from Poseidon's crazed and obsessed expression, there was no doubt what his intentions were.
"Let's follow them. Might as well do a good deed."
Bolos, well-versed in the many legends of Greek Myths, instantly recalled a certain mythic tale. He smirked and decided to do a little mischief and maybe even something helpful.
"Alright."
As Bolos's first subordinate deity and future angel, Amphitrite naturally obeyed his command. Together, they followed the god and the mare through the skies.
By the time they caught up, the mare had already run into a herd of horses, trying to lose Poseidon among the group.
But Poseidon had already marked her. Letting out a delighted laugh, he transformed into a stallion and charged into the herd.
If he couldn't get what he wanted in divine form, he would do so as a horse. Poseidon had no shame.
Transformation into animals was an innate skill of Divine Beings—every one of them could do it. However, once transformed, their perception of the outside world would dull considerably.
This dullness didn't alter their divine essence, and they could always revert to their true form at will.
"How interesting. Amphitrite, wait until I leave, then make your appearance."
Seeing Poseidon's behavior, Bolos came up with a new idea.
He used the Grand Teleportation Art from his Ten Arts of Fate and instantly appeared within the horse herd, right next to Poseidon's stallion form and the mare.
Then, he immediately cast the Grand Light Art. A brilliant holy light, like a white sun, erupted within the herd.
…
Poseidon, now in horse form, had just approached the mare and was ready to mount her when the dazzling light flared up around him, even eclipsing the sun's brightness. The light stung his eyes terribly.
Enraged, Poseidon was about to revert to his godly form to see who dared disturb him.
But the white light vanished as quickly as it had come.
And now, the mare was right before him. Poseidon cast aside all other thoughts. There was nothing more important than fulfilling this long-held desire.
He mounted the mare. As it cried out and trembled, he trembled too—with excitement.
"Too bad my Grand Transformation Art doesn't last longer. I could've watched Poseidon from up close."
Far away from the herd, Bolos rode the mare Poseidon had been chasing, looking back once with a chuckle.
Of the Ten Arts of Fate, he had only mastered five: Grand Annihilation Art, Grand Transformation Art, Grand Blessing Art, Grand Teleportation Art, and Grand Light Art.
Just now, he had used Grand Teleportation Art to sneak into the herd, immediately blinded Poseidon with Grand Light Art, then used Grand Transformation Art to turn another nearby horse into the image of the mare Poseidon was pursuing.
He had then ridden the original mare away, again using Grand Teleportation Art to exit smoothly.
Everything had flowed seamlessly. Poseidon may have noticed something odd, but driven by lust, he ignored it and charged ahead.
Had it not been for Poseidon's overwhelming desire, Bolos would never have succeeded. He would've had to send Amphitrite in instead.
Thankfully, all went as planned. As Bolos faded into the distance, he gave Amphitrite a slight nod.
Amphitrite smiled sweetly and turned toward Poseidon's stallion form. Her face turned cold in an instant.
"Poseidon! What are you doing? Are you really trying to mate with a horse? Do you want both of us to become a laughingstock among the gods?"
The voice was unmistakably familiar. Poseidon, still a stallion, turned his head and saw his beautiful wife—The Queen of the Seas, Amphitrite.
"Neigh…"
Poseidon let out a horse's cry. Only then did he remember he was in horse form.
Since Amphitrite had shown up, he knew his pleasure time was over. He transformed back into his Divine Being form and said nonchalantly, "It's nothing. I was just playing out some roleplay with Demeter."
Poseidon had long since grown estranged from Amphitrite. Bolder than Zeus, he didn't care if she saw what he was doing.
After all, Zeus, despite being promiscuous, had always claimed Hera as his one true love.
Poseidon was different. His marriage to Amphitrite had never been about love.
"Demeter?" Amphitrite pointed at the mare Poseidon had just defiled. "You're saying that is Demeter?"
"Of course. Do you think I, The King of the Seas, would chase a mere common horse?"
Poseidon patted the mare's backside. "Demeter, stop being shy. Show your divine form."
But as he slapped the mare, he felt something was off—it was much thinner than before.
His face changed. He realized this wasn't the same mare.
Instantly, he recalled that brief flash of holy light earlier and roared into the sky, "Who are you?! Show yourself!"
"If I ever find you, I swear I'll bury you at the deepest part of the endless sea!"
With Poseidon's fury, a storm surged over the sea, crashing toward the shore. Thunderclouds churned in the sky, and torrential rain fell.
He looked at Amphitrite, eyes full of rage and suspicion. "My Queen of the Seas, was this your doing?"
Poseidon deeply suspected that his long-disgruntled wife had colluded with another Divine Being to make a fool of him.
