Zhao Yu listened intently to Master Khamir Dal's lecture.

Don't let Khamir Dal's rank as a Senior Sorcerer fool you—decades of teaching had given him rich experience.

Many Supreme Sorcerers never understood basic Magic as deeply as he did.

Under his instruction, Zhao Yu's grasp of Magic advanced at an astonishing pace.

Before long, both theoretical spells neared Level 2.

Zhao Yu looked at Master Khamir Dal with burning admiration—he was a walking repository of experience!

Unfortunately, Khamir Dal was not his personal mentor, so he couldn't trouble him indefinitely.

After half an hour, Khamir Dal's throat was hoarse as he finished his explanation.

"Zhao Yu, did you understand?"

"If not, I can explain again."

Master Khamir Dal asked patiently.

"Master Khamir Dal, rest assured, I've understood," Zhao Yu replied.

"Good," Khamir Dal said.

"Now go practice diligently and solidify your foundation.

I have high hopes for your path as a Sorcerer.

I believe you will become a great Sorcerer."

"Thank you, Master," Zhao Yu bowed respectfully.

"All right, off you go—I have matters to attend to."

"Master Khamir Dal, I take my leave," Zhao Yu said, saluting before departing.

Khamir Dal watched Zhao Yu's figure vanish, then drew in a sharp breath.

"Modest, polite, and with such talent—this youth's future is limitless."

He glanced ruefully at the handful of hairs he'd pulled from his beard, then shook his head.

"I must report this to the Masters."

Without walking, he opened a Portal with a gesture, arriving before Master Wang's chamber.

At this time, Wang was not serving as Kamar-Taj's librarian

but as its chief protector.

He usually studied tomes in solitude, only emerging to instruct apprentices.

Though his face was stern, all at Kamar-Taj knew Master Wang's heart was kind.

Khamir Dal barged in without knocking, and Wang instinctively drew his weapon—lowering it only when he recognized his colleague.

"Khamir Dal! Why such haste?

As Sorcerers, we must remain calm even before calamity.

How can you defend Earth like this?"

Wang scolded, though both were peers in age and rank.

"My apologies, Master Wang; I lost my composure,"

Khamir Dal said quickly, showing deep respect.

Wang's anger softened.

"What brings you to me?" he asked after seating Khamir Dal and pouring tea.

"I have urgent news," Khamir Dal replied.

"Oh?" Wang's expression turned grave.

"One of our apprentices shows remarkable promise,"

Khamir Dal said earnestly.

Wang relaxed at once.

"Promising students appear every year.

Supreme Sorcerers' selections across the Multiverse are renowned.

All Kamar-Taj students are handpicked by Supreme Sorcerers—every one gifted.

A standout among them is hardly surprising."

Wang poured more tea for Khamir Dal.

"But this Zhao Yu mastered Magic Shield in three days,"

Khamir Dal blurted out.

Crack—Wang's teapot shattered in his hand.

Yet his face remained impassive.

"Khamir Dal, repeat that."

"That apprentice Zhao Yu mastered Magic Shield in three days,"

Khamir Dal said solemnly.

Crack—Wang's teacup shattered next.

He set the fragments on the table without a flicker of emotion.

"Let's go," Wang ordered, standing.

Khamir Dal blinked.

"Master Wang, where to?"

"To see this apprentice,"

Wang said, casting Khamir Dal a flat glance.

Though he almost stumbled, it was clear Wang was shaken by Zhao Yu's genius.

Khamir Dal barely noticed—hadn't his beard hairs fallen out earlier at the same news?

Wang drew a golden Portal in the air.

"Mirror Dimension?"

"Master Wang intends to observe in secret?"

Khamir Dal understood at once.

The Mirror Dimension mirrors reality—useful for testing dangerous spells and surveilling others.

No mind could detect Wang's observation there.

He knew Wang's caution was wise;

many prodigies perish from improper guidance.

Wang would not allow tragedy here.

Side by side, they stepped into the Mirror Dimension to find Zhao Yu.

As they walked, Khamir Dal praised, "Zhao Yu is exceptional—not only a genius but diligent, humble, and polite.

Truly a fine candidate for Sorcererhood."

Though Wang's face stayed blank, his heart warmed.

Supreme Sorcerers prized good character, and diligence and humility take one far on the path of Magic.

They arrived at Zhao Yu's quarters, but found him not practicing

but fast asleep, drooling onto his pillow.

Wang shot Khamir Dal a look that spoke volumes:

"This is your so-called diligent genius?"
