A Thought

"That's basically how things stand," Garp said, holding the Transponder Snail, his voice trembling.

It was clear Garp's mind was far from calm.

Meanwhile, at Marine Headquarters, in the Fleet Admiral's office—

Sengoku stared at the Transponder Snail on his desk, then finally sighed and said, "Tell them, we agree."

With that, Sengoku hung up the phone.

Garp put away the Transponder Snail and turned to Ye Chen. "We agreed."

Hearing this, a slight smile appeared on Ye Chen's face. "Glad you're sensible."

Garp remained silent.

Zephyr lay weak on the ground, his eyes filled with sorrow as he looked at Garp.

As Garp's old friend of decades, he knew how much torment Garp was going through.

Even when facing Pirate King Roger, Garp never bowed. But this time, for Zephyr and Kizaru, he had to.

Only for them.

Kizaru had long since passed out from excessive blood loss.

About half an hour later, Sengoku and Akainu arrived, leading a group of Marine Headquarters soldiers.

When Sengoku saw Zephyr and Kizaru's severe injuries, he snapped sharply, "Medical team!"

At his command, Marine soldiers parted to make a path as dozens of medics carried stretchers forward.

"Hold up."

Suddenly, a voice rang out as Ye Chen and Esdeath stepped in front of the medics.

"Things." Ye Chen said coldly to Sengoku.

"How dare you." Akainu immediately stepped forward, shouting at Ye Chen, "Get lost!"

Ye Chen's expression darkened. "Osiris."

Roar!

At the command, Osiris stretched out his massive claws like a shadow blotting out the sky, swiping toward Akainu.

Akainu's face changed drastically. Heat radiated from his body as his right arm lifted, molten lava burning like a blazing sun, prepared to meet Osiris's claws.

Pfft.

The lava giant hand did no damage—instead, Osiris's claws extinguished the lava flames.

Seeing his attack fail, Akainu's pupils shrank. Instinctively, he tried to elementally transform and escape.

But the divine power shrouding Osiris's claws nullified Akainu's elemental form, grabbing and dragging him into the air.

"How is this possible?" Akainu's face turned pale, staring in disbelief at Osiris.

He was absolutely sure this dragon had no Armament Haki.

If there was no Haki, why did it nullify his elemental powers? Akainu's mind raced with confusion.

"What's going on, Sengoku?" Ye Chen narrowed his eyes, staring coldly.

"It's a misunderstanding," Sengoku replied.

Sengoku now regretted bringing Akainu along.

"A misunderstanding, huh?" Ye Chen sneered.

Sengoku's anxiety grew. Zephyr and Kizaru's injuries were severe; the longer they waited, the more their lives were at risk.

Sengoku picked up a treasure chest and said to Ye Chen, "Here are the twenty Devil Fruits."

"Bring it over."

Without hesitation, Sengoku approached and handed over the chest.

Ye Chen counted quickly, then tossed the chest into the air. Osiris snapped it up with one bite.

"The Devil Fruits are yours. Will you let our medics pass now?" Sengoku asked.

"Go ahead." Ye Chen raised an eyebrow, then turned to Esdeath. "Let's go up."

"Osiris."

At the command, Osiris bowed his head, and Ye Chen and Esdeath jumped onto his back.

"Ye Chen, since our deal is done, will you release Akainu?" Sengoku asked.

Ye Chen, sitting atop Osiris, looked down at Sengoku and said, "We could release him, but Akainu spoke harshly earlier. He needs to be punished."

Sengoku's heart sank. Something felt very wrong.

"Osiris, throw that waste into the sea." Ye Chen ordered.

Roar!

Osiris let out a low growl and immediately hurled Akainu toward the ocean. Akainu became a streak of light, disappearing from everyone's sight.

"Contact the Marine Headquarters by the shore. Search for Admiral Akainu's whereabouts with all resources," Sengoku commanded a nearby soldier.

"Since our deal is done, Sengoku, farewell." Ye Chen laughed as Osiris flapped his wings and vanished into the horizon.

Watching Osiris fly farther away, Sengoku's face was ashen.

They had lost both their strongest fighters—Zephyr and Kizaru were badly injured, Akainu was thrown away with unknown survival, and on top of that, they had paid twenty Devil Fruits.

Meanwhile, Ye Chen's side suffered no losses and gained twenty Devil Fruits.

"Let's go, Sengoku," Garp said quietly.

"Yeah."

As Osiris took off, unknown to Sengoku and the others, he transformed into a red light, enveloping Esdeath and Ye Chen, heading swiftly toward the island where Rayleigh and the others awaited.
