A Thought

"What a shame," Ye Chen said casually, though not a trace of regret could be seen on his face.

He knew very well that Kizaru would never cooperate with him. And even if they did team up, facing someone like one of the Four Emperors—Kaido—was simply beyond their capability.

Even Garp, Sengoku, and the three Admirals together couldn't kill Kaido. Just the two of them? Not a chance.

"You want to kill me? Perfect. I'm bored of living anyway. Go ahead—strike me down." Kaido laughed heartily. "But if you fail, your dragon is mine."

Ye Chen rolled his eyes. That kind of nonsense might fool a child. If Kaido really wanted to die, why not just eat two Devil Fruits and get it over with?

"And what do I gain from killing you?" Ye Chen countered.

Kaido paused for a moment, then said, "You'll make your name known across the seas. Everyone in the world will know who you are."

"Oh?" Ye Chen smirked. "You mean more famous than I already am?"

"I mean, if I killed a Celestial Dragon, I'd probably become world-famous overnight. So… your logic is trash."

Kaido rubbed his chin and thought it over. Fair point. Ever since Ye Chen stole from Celestial Gold, his name had been shaking the world. And after today, that infamy would only grow stronger—he'd even injured an Admiral. How many people could claim that?

"Ye Chen, you speak of killing Celestial Dragons right in front of a Marine Admiral. Don't you think that's a bit much?" Kizaru said, his eyes fixed tightly on Ye Chen.

In truth, he had no love for the Celestial Dragons either. But to talk about killing them right in his presence? That was pure provocation.

"It's a figure of speech, man," Ye Chen rolled his eyes. "No need to take it so literally."

Kizaru snorted and stayed silent.

"So, brat—what'll it take for you to agree?" Kaido suddenly asked.

Truth be told, Kaido's offer was tempting. But Ye Chen knew he wasn't yet strong enough to take down a monster like Kaido.

"Maybe someday," Ye Chen replied.

"No such thing as 'someday.' Only now." Kaido's face twisted into a wicked grin.

The moment he finished speaking, he sprang into action—leaping from tree to tree, then vaulting directly in front of Little Sky.

Both of Kaido's arms were instantly coated in Armament Haki, black as night, and he launched them like cannonballs straight toward Little Sky.

It all happened too fast. Before Ye Chen could fully react, Kaido was already midair.

"Little Sky, hit him back!" Ye Chen shouted urgently.

"Rooaaarrr!!" Little Sky howled and opened its jaws. Orange-yellow light gathered quickly—Thunder Summon Orb fully charged—then fired directly at Kaido.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

An enormous explosion tore through the sky. Black smoke swirled. A dark streak shot out from the smoke and crashed violently into the ground.

Kaido was blasted like a football, skipping backward across the earth for dozens of meters before finally grinding to a halt.

"Heh... interesting," Kaido said as he stood up, eyes filled with fanatical excitement as he stared at Little Sky.

"This guy's nuts," Ye Chen muttered, exasperated.

He'd known Kaido was built like a tank, but this was next-level. To take a direct hit from Thunder Summon Orb at close range and still stand like nothing happened?

If Kizaru had taken that hit, he'd likely be half-dead by now.

It only proved once again how freakishly durable Kaido's body was. No wonder Marine Headquarters had never been able to kill him despite capturing him repeatedly.

"It's time to leave."

Kizaru's appearance had been expected—but Kaido's? Not at all.

Neither of them were easy to deal with. And if Ye Chen fought Kizaru to the death, Kaido would just swoop in for the kill.

No matter how he looked at it, there was no upside.

"That's enough for today. Until next time, Kaido... and the rest of you." Ye Chen said calmly.

Then he turned to Little Sky: "Let's go home."

Little Sky flapped its wings, soaring into the air. In a flash of crimson light, it disappeared into the sky.

"That brat's really quick to run," Kizaru muttered, watching Slifer the Sky Dragon vanish.

But maybe this was for the best. With a monster like Kaido around, things could've gotten very messy.

With Ye Chen gone, Kizaru had no more reason to stick around either. He turned into golden light and vanished.

In the blink of an eye, only Kaido remained.

Somewhere over the vast ocean, Ye Chen suddenly remembered he had unfinished business.

No.76 Auction House.

He had deliberately exposed his location, but for them to spread his information so brazenly? That pissed him off.

Besides—he hated human traffickers.

"Little Sky, turn around," Ye Chen ordered.

"Rooaar?" Little Sky tilted its head, as if asking, "Back there now?"

Ye Chen nodded.

Little Sky banked through the air and soared back toward Sabaody Archipelago.

Moments later, Slifer the Sky Dragon reappeared over Island No. 8.

"Blast that place, Little Sky," Ye Chen said coldly, pointing at the largest building on the ground—No.76 Auction House.

Thunder Summon Orb launched. A massive ball of electricity hurtled toward its target at breakneck speed.

Inside the auction house, the middle-aged appraiser and the slim manager were sitting in a private room.

"Don't worry, sir," said the appraiser confidently. "The Admiral's already fighting that brat. He's dead for sure. By now he's probably a charred corpse."

The slim man smiled, finally relaxing. "That's good to hear."

Unfortunately for them, Thunder Summon Orb struck a second later, obliterating No.76 Auction House.

Both men were killed instantly, never realizing what hit them.

"Let's go home," Ye Chen said, watching the auction house crumble into dust.
