"You opened Gold-Grade Equipment Chest ×2 and received: Gold-Grade Equipment [Fiery Robe], [Glory Shield]."

"You opened Platinum-Grade Equipment Chest ×1 and received: Platinum-Grade Equipment [Icy Trace Staff]."

"You opened Random Equipment Chest ×2 and received: Bronze-Grade Equipment [Iron Sword], Silver-Grade Equipment [Chainmail Armor]."

After opening all the Equipment Chests, Lin Chen had obtained five pieces of equipment in total.

Among them, the Fiery Robe and Icy Trace Staff were usable. Their attributes were as follows:

[Fiery Robe]

Rank: Gold

Level: 1

Stats: All Attributes +6%

Additional Skills: [Flame Shield] — Upon activation, grants a shield equal to 20% of max HP for one minute.

[Icy Trace Staff]

Rank: Platinum

Level: 1

Stats: All Attributes +8%

Additional Skills: [Frost Spirit] — Any successful attack slows the enemy's movement speed by 50% for 3 seconds.

These two pieces had decent attributes and came with additional skills—very nice.

In Era of Lords, the higher the equipment grade, the more stat bonuses and stronger the added skills.

Equipment grades, from lowest to highest, were: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Epic, and Mythic.

Lin Chen equipped the Fiery Robe and Icy Trace Staff.

As for the Iron Sword, Chainmail Armor, and Glory Shield, he had no use for them.

He needed to figure out a way to sell them off.

Especially the Glory Shield—it was a Gold-Grade piece of equipment.

This was the early game, and selling it now could easily fetch one million Xia Country coins.

Don't be surprised—the price really was that high.

Of course, this only applied to the early stage. After a month or so—

Bronze and Silver gear would become widespread, and even Gold-Grade equipment would lose value.

In short: the earlier you trade, the higher the price.

Whether it's equipment or troops, anything with a grade works the same way.

After storing away the gear, Lin Chen turned to the Troop Chests and Hero Chest.

Troops—easily the most important thing in Era of Lords.

They formed the backbone of your army and were key to expanding your territory.

The stronger the troops, the more expensive and rare they were to train.

Troops were divided by race: Human, Elf Race, Orcs, Undead, and Beasts.

Once you built an Altar for a specific race and obtained that race's troop template, you could train their troops from that Altar.

For example, if you built a Human Altar, you could only train Human troops from it.

If you wanted to train troops from another race, you'd have to build that race's Altar too.

Each racial Altar had a daily training cap for troops.

The higher the Altar's level, the more troops it could produce each day.

Currently, Lin Chen had three Troop Chests: one Initial Troop Chest, one Random Troop Chest, and one Designated Race Tier 5 Troop Chest.

The Initial Troop Chest was something every Lord started with.

Upon opening, it randomly gave you a troop unit from any race.

Usually, it would yield Tier 1 troops. Very rarely, Tier 2 troops.

As for Tier 3, Lin Chen had never even heard of anyone pulling those from an Initial Troop Chest.

The Random Troop Chest could contain any troop from Tier 1 to Tier 12, of any race.

The higher the tier, the lower the drop chance.

The last one—the Designated Race Tier 5 Troop Chest—guaranteed a Tier 5 troop of your chosen race.

Time was of the essence, so Lin Chen didn't hesitate. He opened them directly.

"You opened Initial Troop Chest and received: Orc Race Tier 1 troop [Goblin]."

"You opened Random Troop Chest and received: Undead Race Tier 2 troop [Skeleton Archer]."

Swish, swish—after opening both chests, Lin Chen now had two troop units.

Orc Race Tier 1 Goblin, and Undead Race Tier 2 Skeleton Archer.

To be honest, both were trash-tier troops.

So Lin Chen decided to ditch them and sell them off for more recharge funds.

Now, all his hopes rested on the Designated Race Tier 5 Troop Chest.

Tier 5, and a designated race—what race should he pick?

After a moment of thought, Lin Chen made his decision.

"Open Tier 5 Troop Chest—Designated Race: Elf Race."

"You opened the Designated Race Tier 5 Troop Chest and received: Elf Race Tier 5 troop [Windrunner Archer]."

The system prompt sounded, and a statue appeared in Lin Chen's backpack.

It depicted a heroic and graceful elf wielding a longbow.

"Tier 5, Windrunner Archer—not bad. At least it's an offensive troop," Lin Chen thought to himself.

Among the Elf Race, most troops were female, with only a few exceptions being male.

And they were remarkably beautiful women.

Compared to choosing ugly orcs or skeletons from the Undead, or the low-IQ beasts, going with elves was clearly the better option.

At the very least, it was easy on the eyes!

Ahem—of course, that was only part of the reason. The real reason was:

Elf Race offensive troops had high attack and excellent mobility, making them among the best choices for early expansion.

As it turned out, Lin Chen had made the right call.

No doubt about it—he had the resources and now had the troops.

It was time to build the Altar and start training.

With that in mind, Lin Chen turned and walked up to the Lord Hall to check the territory info:

[Divine Realm]

Level: 1

Alliance: None

Subordinate Territories: None

Population: 0/10,000

Daily Subject Production: 0

Trainable Troops: None

Wood: 1.053 million

Stone: 1.053 million

Iron: 1.053 million

Gold: 1.053 million

Food: 90,000

Upgrade Requirements: Wood, Stone, Iron, Gold ×30,000 each

That was the territory information panel.

Alliance and subordinate territory functions would come into play later.

For now, focus on population and subject production.

Population meant how many people your territory could hold. At Level 1, the cap was 10,000. You couldn't train more once that limit was exceeded.

Upgrading your territory increased the population cap.

Daily subject production referred to the total number of subjects produced by all Altars in the territory.

For example, if you had a Human Altar and an Elf Altar, both at Level 1—

Then the daily subject output would be the sum of the two Altars' production.

Next were the resources, which displayed your current reserves.

Resources were needed for building and upgrading structures, training troops, and auction trading.

So then, how do you acquire more resources?
