Module slots are divided into two categories: standard modules and auxiliary modules.

Among them, each Spark Warship has a fixed number of standard module slots.

For example, on a destroyer-class ship, there are initially five types of standard module slots: Main Cannon, Armor, Engine, Radar, and Energy Shield.

One slot for each type, totaling five.

The number of auxiliary module slots, however, is not fixed. Depending on the quality and level of the Ship Structure, each Spark Warship may start with a different number of auxiliary slots—usually between one and three.

Later on, as the Ship Structure's enhancement level increases, the number of auxiliary slots will also increase accordingly.

In general, the number of module slots on any Spark Warship is always limited and scarce.

Still, there's no denying that any functional Ship Module often grants a Spark Warship a unique ability.

These abilities are often unconventional and unpredictable.

Of course, this doesn't mean that any artifact from any civilization can just be slotted into a Spark Warship and used out of the box. There are specific requirements.

As for what those requirements are, Wang Dong himself didn't know.

In his previous life, he had spent most of his short years fleeing from pursuit and never received formal education.

He only knew that it likely involved some mystical rules.

But that's to be expected. The Shipborne Fire Seed itself, and even the existence of Spark Warships, are deeply entangled with the rules of mysticism—

If everything could be clearly explained, how could it still be called mysticism?

Now that Yuan Shu was here and seemed to be in good spirits,

And since the Yuan Family belonged to the privileged class—once prosperous in earlier generations—it was likely he knew quite a few secrets.

Wang Dong saw an opportunity and asked the question that had been on his mind.

"Mr. Yuan, what kind of artifacts can be used as Ship Modules for Spark Warships? It can't be just anything, right? Otherwise, that'd be too overpowered."

Yuan Shu, still in good spirits, wasn't annoyed at being interrupted. Instead, he explained with interest,

"There is indeed a threshold. Only artifacts that are acknowledged or accepted by the Shipborne Fire Seed can be installed into a Spark Warship's module slot and function as a Ship Module.

As for the specific conditions—currently, there's no accurate or universally accepted criterion.

Just within the Zijing Kingdom, there are dozens of academic factions researching this exact topic.

But one thing is widely agreed upon:

Artifacts that carry a sense of belief, spirit, or were forged with heartfelt effort tend to have a much higher chance of being accepted by the Shipborne Fire Seed and thus used as a Ship Module."

Wang Dong silently committed Yuan Shu's words to memory.

This was something he had never heard before in his past life.

As the saying goes: a lean camel is still bigger than a horse. Yuan Shu truly had depth.

Seeing that Wang Dong didn't press further, Yuan Shu continued his introduction.

"Compatibility is one of the hallmarks of a Spark Warship.

But if that were all, it wouldn't be enough for Spark Warships to become the backbone of our civilization's military dominance in the interstellar arena.

The other key trait of Spark Warships is their Growth Potential!"

Wang Dong perked up.

Here it was—the very thing that his battleship-assistance system, the true value of his reincarnation, could capitalize on.

"Thanks to the unique traits of the Shipborne Fire Seed, Spark Warships can detect certain spatial signals and, through the Fire Seed, enter a hyperspace different from our own universe.

Based on years of research, we're fairly certain this hyperspace is an entirely different universe from the one our civilization resides in.

In that hyperspace, when Spark Warships destroy artifacts or kill entities belonging to hyperspace civilizations, they earn a mysterious resource called Source Points.

These Source Points, when paired with minerals or other resources, can be used to enhance any Ship Module installed on a Spark Warship, greatly increasing its combat strength.

The rate of improvement is far beyond what normal technological advancement can provide for a battleship!

With both compatibility and Growth Potential, every Spark Warship is essentially a divine weapon with limitless potential.

Over time, as our civilization accumulated more and more of these divine weapons, we were able to feed that power back into our overall development.

That, fundamentally, is why our civilization has continued to grow stronger and stronger!

Glory to the Spark Warship, and glory to our human civilization!"

As he spoke, Yuan Shu patted the chair beneath him with emotion.

Wang Dong also couldn't help but feel moved.

Even as a transmigrator, he was still part of humanity. Naturally, he felt proud of this civilization's prosperity.

"That's why every Spark Warship is unique—

Especially once they've been upgraded to a certain level, it's nearly impossible to find two that are exactly alike.

Of course, due to the limitations in obtaining Source Points, a Spark Warship can't grow indefinitely.

What we call the Source Point Acquisition Rate—in simple terms, it's the efficiency at which a Spark Warship earns Source Points.

For first-generation Spark Warships, the rate is 100%.

But each time captaincy is transferred, the acquisition rate is halved."
