Divine Summer Empire, River Peace Province, West Sea City.
On the sports field of West Sea No. 1 High School, several professionals were setting up a magic array.
Today, over a hundred senior students from West Sea No. 1 High School were undergoing their unified class advancement.
The students sat upright and solemn, attentively listening to Principal Charles Lu's speech.
"Boys and girls, after three years of study, you have all mastered the theoretical knowledge about becoming Professionals."
"Today is your class advancement day. It will determine your future path in life."
"I won't waste any more time. I hope all of you can reach the level of Sam Su and become the pillars of our human race."
The Sam Su Charles Lu mentioned was once a student at this very school. He had Advanced to a Holy Mage and was now a prominent figure at level 80.
Charles Lu often used Sam Su's story to inspire students.
Mark Lin gazed at the class advancement array being assembled on the field, his eyes slightly dark yet tinged with anticipation.
Having lived in this world for several years now, he already understood what kind of place it was.
This world was fused with the mechanics of a game. When students reached their senior year, they would undergo class advancement.
Clearing dungeons, exploring hidden realms, joining battlefronts, or slaying monsters in the wild — all of these activities granted experience.
With enough experience, one could level up, master skills, and grow stronger.
They fought against all sorts of demonic monsters to carve out survival space for humanity.
Countless human predecessors had shed their blood and laid down their lives to secure the life they now enjoyed.
Class advancement success rates had long since reached 100%, but the quality of the class obtained varied greatly.
The most sought-after were, of course, the main Combat Classes, followed by Support Classes, and finally, the Life-Oriented Classes.
But that was only a rough classification. While Combat Classes were indeed in high demand, it didn't mean Support or Life-Oriented Classes were weak.
Strong Support Classes were equally prized. Whether in dungeons, secret realms, or on the frontlines, Support Classes were indispensable.
In some scenarios, they would rather lose a damage dealer than go without a support.
The same went for Life-Oriented Classes. There had once been God-Tier Life-Oriented Class professionals who were immensely powerful.
From Mark Lin's perspective, a class's strength ultimately depended on the person wielding it.
There were trash-level combatants and God-Tier supports.
With a pillar of light shooting skyward, the class advancement array was finally complete.
Charles Lu waved his hand grandly. "Follow me! Let's go!"
He led the more than one hundred senior students toward the field.
Mark Lin followed the group, silently wondering what class he might advance into.
No one could say for sure what class they'd get.
Some students who performed modestly ended up Advancing into powerful Combat Classes.
Others who had excellent academic performance might only end up in a Life-Oriented Class.
Although he and Snow Xia were both hailed as the twin prodigies of No. 1 High School, what class he would end up with would only be revealed inside the array.
Someone tapped him on the shoulder. Simon Gao approached with a cheeky grin. "What class do you most want to get?"
Mark Lin glanced at him and shook his head without answering.
Simon Gao kept smiling. "Come on, just say it. What's the harm? I'll tell you mine. I really want to be a Knight. Look at me — tall and strong — if I become a Knight, I'd be all heroic and chivalrous, and I could protect the girls!"
He did indeed have the build for a Knight.
But getting a main Combat Class was tough.
According to Mark Lin's statistics, the probability was only about 10%.
Out of the hundred or so students here, fewer than fifteen would get a main Combat Class.
Simon Gao kept talking, while Mark Lin just smiled faintly without replying.
Mark Lin wasn't very talkative. Though he had excellent grades, he didn't have many friends.
Many classmates thought there was something wrong with him.
After a few more words, Simon Gao went off to chat with someone else.
Someone tugged at Simon Gao. "Why are you bothering with that cold fish? He never replies anyway."
"Exactly. So what if he's good at studying? Doesn't mean anything."
"No one knows what class he'll get today. Watch him end up with some lame Life-Oriented Class."
The students chatted among themselves. Mark Lin's popularity wasn't great. Many thought he was aloof and arrogant.
They assumed he looked down on others because of his grades.
Simon Gao chuckled. "Actually, Mark just doesn't like to talk much."
Unfortunately, no one believed him.
Mark Lin didn't bother explaining. There was no need.
The group arrived at the front of the array. Charles Lu stepped forward and respectfully addressed an elderly man. "Master Zhang, thank you for your help today."
Master Zhang shook his head. "It's my duty."
He made no effort to conceal his status, so everyone could see it clearly.
[Max Zhang — Level 52 — Formation Master]
Mark Lin's eyes flickered in surprise. A Formation Master, and level 52 at that.
Formation Master was a rare Support Class — not commonly seen.
On the battlefield, Formation Masters were highly sought after. Once a formation was deployed, it became a death zone for any enemies who entered it.
After a few polite exchanges, Charles Lu returned with a roster in hand and addressed the students.
"Next, I'll call out names. Those who are called, step into the class advancement array."
"You've been taught everything you need. You all know what to do. Don't be nervous — just relax."
"First up, Jason Xu!"
Jason Xu responded and, a little anxious, stepped into the array.
The formation roared to life. With a dazzling flash of light, Jason Xu's class advancement was complete.
[Life-Oriented Class: Farmer]
Jason Xu's face turned slightly pale — he hadn't expected to become a Farmer.
"Jason Xu ended up as a Farmer."
"Farmer's not bad. If he upgrades to a Grand Agriculturist or even a Holy Agriculturist, that's a solid class."
"Yeah, among Life-Oriented Classes, Farmer's actually not the worst."
