The towering figure of Hiroshi Toyokawa loomed over three meters tall, his hulking frame built of gleaming white bones intertwined with sinewy black flesh, with a face chiseled like stone, and jaws as menacing as those of a primeval beast. His rows of jagged, sword-like teeth clicked, while his eyes—hanging just outside hollow sockets—rolled wildly.

Luo Shu was stunned. "Ah…" His voice barely escaped in awe, his face lighting up with a sparkle. "Wow… this is… amazing!" He grinned, almost starry-eyed. "What a beast of a shikigami! I'd love to keep him as a pet!"

The three ghosts turned to look at Luo Shu with expressions that shifted from worry to something closer to baffled respect, and finally to a mutual realization: Why were we ever worried about this guy?

Even Taro's undead expression contorted slightly, as if he understood enough to be deeply offended.

[Luo Shu! Even the ghosts are worried about your mental state now! Can you act normal for once?]

[Not gonna lie, I'm starting to think this shikigami is actually kind of cool!]

[Wait, different languages? How are they all understanding each other?]

[Game translation. High-level stuff!]

Toyokawa Taro sprang into action. He bent his knees slightly and then leapt forward with a terrifying speed.

Swoosh—

Luo Shu's face changed. Too fast! Taro's enormous ghostly form was so huge that the slightest movement caused him to break through the ceiling and walls, disappearing in an instant. But Luo Shu's mind was quick. He realized immediately: there was no way he could fight this thing head-on! In this confined space, the walls of the hallway gave Taro perfect cover. Even if it didn't, Luo Shu had no skills to deal with a spirit this powerful, and his only weapon was outside. Still, he was sure he wasn't going to die so easily.

In that split second, Taro's massive body reappeared, descending silently through the ceiling, right into Luo Shu's blind spot. His ghastly white eyes held only a sliver of black pupils, like two dots of black fire. He looked down at Luo Shu with bloodthirsty malice, his colossal hand crashing down.

At 1st level, Luo Shu was still physically an ordinary person. If this giant ghost slapped down, he'd be a meat paste instantly.

Just then, the Suit Ghost appeared suddenly behind Luo Shu, almost as if teleporting. The two stood back-to-back.

The Suit Ghost lifted his gaze, staring directly at his former father, his arm outstretched to catch Taro's descending hand. The size contrast was striking—Taro's massive claw engulfed the Suit Ghost's hand. But the Suit Ghost managed to deflect it, shifting the trajectory just enough to narrowly miss Luo Shu's head. In an instant, the tremendous ghostly hand and body pressed down, crushing half of the Suit Ghost's form.

Only now did Luo Shu notice what had happened behind him, prompting him to dodge back several steps. Taro snarled, clearly annoyed, and moved to charge again. But half of the Suit Ghost's broken body had already flashed back into position in front of his father.

Their eyes met in silence.

The Suit Ghost's mangled form began to repair itself, while his own eyes started to melt, dissolving into dark pits once more. He simply stared at Taro, fixing him in place, until Taro's skull exploded with a wet crack!

Luo Shu narrowed his eyes, cautiously stepping back further. "Is that a ghost skill? Some kind of mental assault? Similar to Kayako or Sadako?"

Suddenly, an idea struck him. Perhaps the Suit Ghost—Toyokawa Jiro—had inherited onmyoji powers on par with his father's but had chosen to suppress them in life, perhaps to avoid his father's fate. He had likely just wanted to live a normal life as a salaryman, crushed under a boss's heel, raising a son without fear of spiritual dangers. Yet he had ended up with a son who mirrored his father's darkness in every way.

The strength of these ghostly bodies was staggering. Taro's head had just exploded but was already regenerating, and the Suit Ghost's broken half had similarly reformed.

Now the lady of the house joined the battle. More precisely, her hair joined. Her black hair poured out like a dark waterfall, stretching, and wrapping around Taro, instantly ensnaring him. But he broke free with a single claw, slashing through the tangled locks with ease. Jiro's blood-filled eye sockets released another burst of power, exploding his father's head again, and the little girl ghost leapt forward to tear at Taro's free claw.

Watching this grim alliance as they attacked their patriarch, Luo Shu noted their violent strength.

Yet Taro's head regenerated once more, and he let out a thunderous howl. From his dark maw, a sickening stench burst forth, mingled with blood and rotten bile. As the blood and gore rained down, the entire hallway underwent a twisted transformation. Blood droplets rooted themselves in walls, floors, and ceilings, sprouting and rapidly growing.

Within moments, the entire corridor was covered in pulsating, raw pink tissue, undulating like the flesh of a nightmare straight from a Lovecraftian horror.
