In this twisted world, there were once Onmyoji and their Shikigami. But Shikigami were merely "tamed demons" — malevolent spirits under control. To put it plainly, an obedient, trained demon that served someone was what they called a Shikigami.

Hiroshi Toyokawa's Shikigami, summoned through dark arts, responded to his grandson's command. Its skeletal hand tore apart a thick burlap sack with terrifying ease, like ripping paper, revealing a girl inside, covered in blood. She wore a school uniform just like Hiroshi, but they had never crossed paths until he ambushed her on her way home, beat her senseless, and stuffed her into the sack.

Through her blurry, half-conscious vision, the girl saw the demon — a ghastly creature lifting her high above. Its mouth stretched grotesquely wide, resembling the open bed of a truck. She dangled in its grip, helpless, horror-stricken, close to fainting. "Please… don't…"

The demon let go, dropping her into its gaping maw. With a sickening crunch, its sharp teeth bit down, silencing her forever. Blood splattered, and then came the grisly sounds of chewing and swallowing.

Hiroshi watched the scene unfold, his face split into a disturbingly bright smile. In that moment, the boy, with his innocent expression and otherworldly sight, appeared even more terrifying than the demon itself.

In the basement, Luo Shu made a quiet analysis, "If you look at it from a criminal psychology perspective, this creep's mind is an open book." He held up a photo he'd found and showed Sylas, "His father's eyes… always watching the daughter, never him. So, he kills the father, gouges out the eyes, and sticks them in the kettle to 'wash' them clean."

"And his mother?" Sylas asked, looking queasy. Luo Shu continued, "Judging by the way her mouth was torn up, she probably scolded him a lot. So, he throws her head into the toilet, making her 'eat' filth."

"As for the sister, she was probably adored for her cute looks, everything he felt he'd never receive. My guess is he thinks he's… not so cute himself." He shrugged, "Pure speculation, but it fits."

Sylas nearly gagged, feeling a wave of disgust. "This kid's a total psychopath!"

"But why cut off their heads?" she pressed. Luo Shu admitted calmly, "No clue. Could be for fun, like kicking a ball. Whatever twisted satisfaction he gets, it's clear they're surprisingly… bouncy."

Suddenly, footsteps echoed above them, making both of them freeze.

The sound grew louder. He's here. Finally.

Hiroshi Toyokawa entered the yard, strolling beneath the cherry blossom tree, his expression placid as he opened the front door. It was unlocked. He wasn't expecting anyone anyway.

The monstrous ghost of his grandfather, Hiroshi Toyokawa, was stashed back in its six-eared jade bottle like some obedient, monstrous pet. Hiroshi removed his shoes at the entrance, observing tradition even in an empty home. He politely announced his arrival, "I'm home."

As always, no one answered.

Hiroshi walked down the hallway, his steps steady. The Suit Ghost appeared along the way, but Hiroshi only nodded respectfully, bowing slightly. "Father." The Suit Ghost remained silent, its hollow eye sockets watching him coldly. Hiroshi merely continued on to the balcony, where he found his sister's severed head.

He smiled.

The bloodied face of the little girl grimaced in fear, her lips quivering. "B-brother…"

Without a second thought, Hiroshi kicked her head hard. It bounced off the balcony wall and rolled back into the living room, eventually ending up under the dining table.

In Luo Shu's live stream, chaos erupted.

Whenever important NPCs moved, the game enabled split-screen mode, showing both the player's and the NPC's perspectives. The audience had watched Luo Shu's dark analysis, only to witness Hiroshi's disturbingly accurate actions.

[Wait, does he really just kick his sister's head for fun?]

[No way… Luo Shu, are you reading the script? This is spot on!]

[I'm terrified; he got everything right!]

[Two twisted minds, frighteningly aligned!]

[Thank goodness the game doesn't allow players to harm teammates, or poor Sylas wouldn't stand a chance.]

[Hold on, it doesn't? Then what about when he made her drink water to lure out the thing in the toilet?]

[Minor harm probably allowed. He might lose some moral points during the game's scoring.]

[Forget the score! I'm terrified right now! This middle school kid is pure nightmare fuel!]

In the basement, Luo Shu, and Sylas both heard the thudding sounds above. Luo Shu's expression turned peculiar as he pieced together the likely scene. No way… is he really kicking that head around?

Sylas, though nervous, clutched Luo Shu's arm tightly. "What do we do now?"

Luo Shu looked at her flatly. "Shut up."

"I know, I'll be quiet!" she whispered.

"Mostly because of your breath."

Sylas looked appalled, momentarily tempted to pull her gun on him. But she kept quiet as the two waited tensely in the dark.

After some time, Hiroshi seemed to tire of his grim play, taking out his bento box and settling down at the table to eat in solitude. Sylas, unable to resist, leaned in close to Luo Shu, her voice barely a breath, "Are we seriously just going to hide here? What if he finds us?"

"Relax," Luo Shu whispered back. "His family isn't likely to turn us in."

"I put everything back where it was," he added. "Only one thing's out of place, but he'd have to be particularly observant to notice."

Sylas furrowed her brow. "What?"

Luo Shu's eyes glinted. "The water you drank."

Sylas' face paled.!!!
