As the chatter of the young wizards subsided, Dumbledore made his next decision.

"Now, before we retire for the night, let us all sing the school song together!" Dumbledore announced loudly. The smiles of the other teachers seemed to freeze.

With a flick of his wand, Dumbledore conjured a long golden ribbon that floated out and twisted in the air above the tall dinner tables, forming lines of text like a snake. Ye Ting could see that it was the lyrics of Hogwarts' school song.

"Each of you may choose your own tune," Dumbledore said. "Ready, sing!"

And so the entire faculty and student body broke into song.

The sound was dreadful, so bad that Himari, who was sleeping soundly in Ye Ting's backpack, awoke with a start and meowed loudly, covering her ears.

Everyone finished the school song in a disjointed manner. Only the Weasley twins continued singing along to the slow melody of "Funeral March." Dumbledore used his wand to conduct their final few lines, and when they finished, his applause was the loudest.

"Music," he wiped his eyes, "is more enchanting than anything we do here! It's now time for bed. Everyone, return to your dormitories."

The first-years followed their house prefects out of the Great Hall, threading through corridors one after another.

Ye Ting recognized the Ravenclaw female prefect, Penelope Clearwater. She had long, curly brown hair and a beautiful appearance that radiated elegance and intellect. To Ye Ting, her charm far surpassed that of the still-young Hermione Granger and Cho Chang.

For this girl who played a minor role in the original story but frequently appeared in fanfictions, Ye Ting harbored great interest.

She and the other male prefect led the young eagles to the western tower of the castle, to the very top of Ravenclaw Tower, in front of an old, bare wooden panel with a bronze eagle knocker above it.

"Unlike other houses, Ravenclaw's common room doesn't have a password; one must answer the knocker's question and receive its approval to enter." Penelope explained. She knocked on the door, and the beak immediately opened, but instead of emitting a bird's call, it spoke in a gentle, musical voice.

"What will you break once you say it?"

"Would anyone like to try?" She looked at the first-years with anticipation, giving Ye Ting an extra glance. In terms of appearance, he surpassed all the new students, including the girls. So even though Penelope valued inner qualities more, she still had a very high initial impression of him.

Meeting the prefect's expectant gaze, Ye Ting happily stepped forward.

"Silence." he replied.

"Well said." the eagle knocker approved, and the door opened at once.

This was just a brain teaser.

Ye Ting felt somewhat speechless. The door's question was too easy to crack.

But in fact, due to the lack of corresponding basic education, most young wizards lacked logical reasoning abilities. Therefore, for clever Ravenclaws, riddles were often safer than passwords.

Penelope appreciatively nodded at Ye Ting, her fondness for him increasing—not only because he had a charming appearance but also because he was intelligent—and then introduced the new students: "Congratulations! I am Prefect Penelope Clearwater, and I am delighted to welcome you to Ravenclaw House. Our emblem is an eagle, soaring high at the unreachable peak; our colors are azure and bronze..."

What followed was a long speech about Ravenclaw, including its great achievements, characteristics, evaluations of other houses, and finally, she mentioned Ravenclaw's ghost, Grey Lady—the daughter of Rowena Ravenclaw herself, who would provide assistance to Ravenclaw students.

Ravenclaw's common room was a large, circular room with elegant arched windows adorned with blue and bronze silk. From the windows, Ravenclaw students could see the beautiful scenery outside. The ceiling was a dome adorned with stars, and the deep blue carpet below was also dotted with stars. The room contained tables, chairs, and bookshelves. Opposite the door, a niche held a bust of Rowena Ravenclaw made of white marble. A door beside the bust led to the dormitories above.

The two prefects led the new students to their dormitories.

The dormitory was a four-person room with four four-poster beds draped in dark red flannel curtains.

Ye Ting opened his trunk, tidied up his belongings a bit, and then placed Himari on the bed.

Himari was full of energy at night, rolling around excitedly on the velvet quilt.

The names of his three roommates were Anthony Goldstein, a blond Jew; Terry Boot, with brown hair; and Michael Corner, with black hair. They were all named supporting characters with significant roles in the original story.

They, Ye Ting, along with Kevin Entwhistle and Stephen Cornfoot from another dormitory, were the only six male first-years in Ravenclaw for this school year. They couldn't even fill two dormitories.

But in fact, Ravenclaw had always been predominantly female. In terms of male numbers, this year's intake was already far more than previous years.

After briefly exchanging greetings with their new roommates, everyone changed into pajamas and fell asleep. The journey to the school had indeed been exhausting.
