On a dark, windy night, ideal for shady business... or maybe not. Tonight, the little pavilion was brightly lit, revealing Tripitaka happily feasting on a lavish spread of meats and fish, all of which he had convinced Elder Gao to prepare under the pretense of "exorcising the pig demon." Though Elder Gao had his doubts, he believed that monks abstain from meat and reasoned that perhaps Tripitaka had some mysterious method in mind. However, Elder Gao had unfortunately put his faith in the wrong person—Tripitaka just wanted to eat! His appetite had only grown bolder lately, making this extravagant meal feel like a well-earned victory.
When Monkey King learned that Tripitaka's only demand was food, he was utterly speechless. You're willing to put on this whole act just for a meal? Unbelievable!
An hour later, just as Tripitaka was contemplating whether to ask for a second round, a dark cloud approached, and the Pigsy descended upon the courtyard.
Meanwhile, in another room, Monkey King was in the middle of a rather "close conversation" with Gao Cuilan. Wukong sensed Pigsy's arrival immediately.
"He's here!" Monkey King grinned, anticipating the upcoming scene. Had it not been for the delightful company, he would have ensured he had a front-row seat for this spectacle.
"The pig demon is here?" Gao Cuilan asked lazily, resting in his arms, her gaze soft and warm.
"Yes, he's in the pavilion now," Monkey King replied with a nod.
"Shouldn't you go help your master? He's just an ordinary man, isn't he?" she questioned, somewhat surprised.
"Hm? And how did you come to that conclusion?" Wukong asked, intrigued.
"I've been observing," Gao Cuilan replied proudly. "Every time he makes a decision, he always looks to you for approval. That's a bit suspicious for a master-disciple relationship."
"Smart. Anything else?" Monkey King was impressed; he hadn't expected her to be so observant.
"Oh, and in the courtyard," Gao Cuilan continued, "before the holy monk chanted his mantra, I noticed you gave him a quick look. After that, the monk didn't even perform any ritual—he just opened the door without issue. You had something to do with that, didn't you?"
"Sharp as ever! No wonder you've caught my eye!" Monkey King complimented with admiration.
Blushing, Gao Cuilan frowned. "Aren't you worried about your master? The pig demon might pose a danger to him!"
But Monkey King simply smirked. Tripitaka's safety was the last thing he was concerned about; in fact, if Pigsy caused Tripitaka serious trouble, he'd even get some karmic rewards out of it—a perfect deal in his mind! Unfortunately, he knew Pigsy wouldn't go so far as to harm the monk, especially not after learning he was the sutra seeker.
"No need to worry," he reassured her. "That pig demon won't harm my master. Besides, I have some 'special arrangements' in place."
"Special arrangements?" Gao Cuilan looked at him curiously.
"Don't mind that. Let's continue our… beautiful conversation," Monkey King whispered, leaning closer.
What happens next… well, let your imagination fill in the rest.
Meanwhile, Pigsy was filled with excitement. He finally had a wife! However, Elder Gao's constant interference kept him from being with her all the time. Pigsy had decided to give it a few days before speaking with Elder Gao again. If that didn't work, he would simply whisk Lady Cuiqing away and live a carefree life—why envy immortals when you could live happily with your beloved?
As Pigsy approached the brightly lit pavilion, his excitement grew, and he quickened his pace, drooling in anticipation. Bursting through the door, he lunged forward without a second glance, assuming he'd found his beloved. Arms outstretched, he wrapped them around someone's shoulders and leaned in for a kiss.
The moment he opened his massive mouth, a foul odor wafted into the air, enough to make anyone's head spin. Before Tripitaka could fully register what was happening, the pig demon planted a big, wet kiss on his face.
"Ahh! What do you think you're doing, you filthy pig demon?!" Tripitaka screamed, horrified, his face green with nausea. He struggled against Pigsy's grip, but his own frail limbs were no match for the pig demon's strength.
Remembering the enchantment Wukong had set up, Tripitaka kicked out desperately, knocking over his nine-ringed staff.
Boom!
As the staff hit the ground, it emitted a dazzling pink glow, bathing the entire room in its rosy light. The sudden illumination finally brought Pigsy back to reality. Something felt off; the person he held in his arms didn't seem like his beloved at all.
Peering down, Pigsy was met with Tripitaka's pale, furious face, the pink light casting an eerie glow over the scene.
Awkward silence filled the room as Pigsy took a step back, dropping Tripitaka. The strange lighting only intensified the awkwardness, leaving Tripitaka bewildered and furious, while Pigsy stood there, dumbfounded.
Finally, the glow faded, and Pigsy realized his mistake.
"Who are you, monk? And where is my lady?" Pigsy demanded, quickly drawing his nine-toothed rake as he glared at Tripitaka.
"I am the… bleh… the Sutra Seeker!" Tripitaka managed to gasp, still retching.
"What?" Pigsy's eyes widened. "The Sutra Seeker?"
"You heard me! I am the one destined to seek the sutras!" Tripitaka managed; a hint of his dignity restored.
Pigsy's face twisted in shock. He took a few hurried steps back, casting a troubled glance at Tripitaka. Then, in a flash, he turned and took to the sky, vanishing into the night.
