One slap to kill the Ghost King?

Upon hearing these words, Vaughn's expression visibly stagnated.

The Ghost King, in comprehensive comparison, belonged to the realm of a grandmaster. Vaughn was merely at the sub-grandmaster level. If someone could kill the Ghost King with one slap, it meant they could almost kill Vaughn with one slap too.

Of course, it couldn't be calculated like this in reality. After all, there were many methods to suppress ghosts. But no matter how you looked at it, the other party was definitely much stronger than him.

"Vaughn, what should we do now?"

Edward, standing beside him, also felt a bit intimidated after hearing the previous words. His temperamental nature didn't mean he was foolish; he wouldn't recklessly confront anyone he met.

Vaughn thought for a moment and said in a low voice, "Retreat. We came here to exterminate the threat. Since the Ghost King is dead, it's all done. There's no need to unnecessarily increase casualties. We have more things to handle."

"Retreat!"

Edward immediately picked up the communicator and gave the order.

Soon, over a hundred people emerged from the surroundings in dribs and drabs, starting to withdraw in an orderly manner.

After Vaughn reported today's events, a special file appeared in the top-secret archives of the Zamnia District Security Bureau.

"Name: Unknown"

"Age: Unknown"

"Strength: Equal to or higher than Grandmaster"

"Achievement: Killed the Ghost King with one slap."

"Danger: SS-Level"

"Note: A master hidden among the common folk. Must be cautious when meeting. Seems kind and we could work with."

...

Afternoon, after school.

Jett bid farewell to Landon and chose to go home as usual.

"Hmm? Ms. Foster?"

Standing on this side of the street, Jett suddenly saw his class teacher getting on a bus.

This alone wouldn't have caught his attention, but he unexpectedly discovered someone sneaking around not far away, following Ms. Foster.

It was summer, yet the person was wearing long sleeves and pants, with a mask on. It was impossible not to notice.

"Should I go or not?"

Jett was suddenly torn.

It was impossible for Ms. Foster's appearance not to attract people. It was easy to encounter someone with evil intentions, but Landon had also said Ms. Foster was not ordinary. Going might just be meddling in affairs that weren't his concern.

"Hmm... I'll go."

Ultimately, driven by curiosity, Jett chose to follow.

"Taxi!"

Jett hailed a taxi.

"Oh, it's you, bro."

Upon hearing the voice and looking down, Jett realized that the driver was the kind-hearted driver he had met by chance last time.

"Hello again."

Jett greeted as he got into the car.

"Thanks to you. Otherwise, I would have been in big trouble last time."

Thinking back to what happened that night, the driver felt relieved. Encountering a ghost was terrifying. Without Jett, he might have been done for when he returned.

"Don't mention it. If it weren't for me, you wouldn't have gone to that place either."

Jett chuckled lightly.

"No matter what, you saved my life. Just come to me if you need anything in the future."

After saying this, he handed Jett a business card and smiled, "No matter how far, as long as you need me, I'll be there."

The driver was also a smart person. He knew that extraordinary individuals were rare. Making friends with a kind-hearted extraordinary person would increase his safety, especially in an environment where supernatural occurrences were frequent.

Jett didn't hesitate and pointed to the bus that had already started moving ahead, saying, "Thanks, but could you please follow that bus ahead first?"

The driver took a look and couldn't help but whisper, "I have to ask something I shouldn't. Are we encountering something unclean again?"

"No, I just saw someone following our Ms. Foster, and I'm worried something might happen to her."

Jett said frankly.

"A woman, huh? And quite pretty too."

"How do you know?"

"I'm a man; I understand."

The driver chuckled and silently followed. Sometimes, it was best to stop at a hint. Asking further could be annoying.

They drove for an unknown amount of time, getting farther and farther away, almost reaching the suburbs.

Jett watched as the bus reached its destination, and Ms. Foster continued walking towards a more remote area.

The person following her did the same, trailing along the entire way.

Thus, they walked further and further away, until the houses around them disappeared, leaving only barren wasteland.

What was even more surprising was the sight of a beautiful woman walking in front, a masked man following in the middle, and a taxi trailing behind.

In this empty place, everything seemed so abrupt yet somewhat harmonious.

"Your teacher isn't foolish, is she? It's so obvious, yet she still dares to continue walking forward."

The driver couldn't help but murmur.

Jett now felt a bit awkward. Initially, it was a secret tracking, but now everyone was openly following. The key point was that no one had broken this illusion, and they all patiently continued.

"Stop the car."

Jett suddenly spoke up.

The driver instinctively pressed the brakes.

"Turn around and go back. I'll continue the rest of the way myself."

After saying this, Jett threw down the cash and got off the car.

"Should I wait for you behind?"

The driver looked around and couldn't help but speak up.

"No need. This wilderness isn't safe for you alone. Go back early. I'll contact you if there's anything next time."

Upon seeing this, the driver didn't say much more and silently turned around.

Thus, it became a straight line of three people: you take one step, I take one step.

They walked for an unknown amount of time. The sky gradually darkened, and the atmosphere slowly became oppressive.

In the wilderness, there were cicadas chirping, frogs croaking, and the crunching sound of footsteps on leaves everywhere.

Suddenly, Jett noticed that the masked man ahead had stopped. He instinctively stopped too.

"You've been following for so long. What do you mean by this?"

A pleasant voice sounded. Somehow, Ms. Foster had appeared beside the masked man, very abruptly.

The masked man wasn't afraid. In a hoarse voice typical of a middle-aged man, he said in a low tone, "I still came to discuss things with you. As for the little tail behind, I don't know. It's not related to me."

"Could it be some unknown ghost again?" Ms. Foster didn't see Jett's face and naturally couldn't recognize him, so she said softly.

"Should I help you deal with him? As a meeting gift?" The masked man whispered.

"I smell a human scent. He seems to be a human." Ms. Foster's eyes revealed a trace of confusion. She couldn't figure out why it was a human following behind them.

"A human? Could it be someone who has a crush on you? Even though you've disguised yourself, you're still considered exquisite among humans." The masked man's voice carried a hint of mockery, seemingly ridiculing Ms. Foster.

Upon hearing these words, Ms. Foster couldn't quite figure it out. After all, she never lacked admirers at school, and she had seen quite a few crazy people.
