"The effect of those white capsules in the bottle is exactly what you saw. Noble vampires generally don't drink the blood of dead prey, so playing dead to escape was how I solved the last stream," Chen Shang explained. By the time he finished speaking, he had also completed sorting out his surroundings. The valuable items on the desk were a baton, a worn-out flashlight, and a timetable. That was it. Other than those two items, there was a heap of junk: an opened pack of chewing gum, a half-empty pack of low-quality cigarettes, and a plastic lighter.

Chen Shang picked up the timetable, which detailed the security patrols, locations, and notes:

Midnight: Patrol the entire A-wing of the hospital. No special notes.

2 a.m.: Patrol floors 1-3 of B-wing. Do not go to the fourth floor unless absolutely necessary. If you must go, always keep an eye on what's behind you.

4 a.m.: Patrol C-wing and ensure that the power is running properly. Avoid talking to or making eye contact with any patients in C-wing.

There was also a simple map on the timetable, showing the locations of the A, B, and C wings. The buildings were arranged front to back, with A-wing closest to the exit and C-wing furthest inside.

Flipping the timetable over, Chen Shang saw two large blood-red characters on the back: "Run quickly!"

"Looks like the last security guard had a tragic end," Chen Shang quipped, pocketing the timetable for future reference. After some thought, he also stored the flashlight and other random items in his inventory, just in case.

The small room had both a window and a door. The window, which took up nearly half of one wall, allowed Chen Shang to see outside. From there, he could spot the gate of the asylum—an iron-barred gate secured with thick chains and a large padlock.

It was nighttime, but the darkness did not hinder Chen Shang's vision. He could see that thick fog swirled just beyond the iron gate, reducing visibility to barely five meters. Inside the asylum grounds, however, there wasn't a trace of fog.

"Well, this is an obvious hint," Chen Shang muttered. "Rushing out into that fog is a guaranteed death sentence. I'd probably run straight into the machete-wielding maniac described in the hint. And based on the description, that guy sounds a lot like Jason. My chances of beating something like that are about the same as winning the lottery."

Jason Voorhees, often referred to as one of the "four great slasher villains," is a monstrous figure with superhuman strength, speed, and sensory abilities, proficient in every murder weapon. On top of that, he's immortal—no matter what injuries he suffers, he always rises from the grave to continue his killing spree. The other three killers are Leatherface from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Michael Myers from Halloween, and Freddy Krueger from A Nightmare on Elm Street.

The room contained a clock, and the time was now 11:50 p.m., just ten minutes away from the midnight patrol of A-wing.

Chen Shang left the room and walked to the main gate. After searching his pockets, he found a rusty key in his pants.

Comparing it to the lock on the gate, it was a perfect match.

[Why does the game start with a key?]

[The streamer is playing a security guard. Isn't it normal for him to have keys?]

[Why not just unlock the gate and leave?]

[That's dumb. You clearly don't know how this works.]

[Who are you calling dumb?]

Ignoring the chatter, Chen Shang pocketed the key and turned to face the asylum. Not far from where he stood was the brightly lit A-wing building, its white exterior gleaming like any regular hospital. It looked perfectly safe from the outside.

"This place looks pretty normal, and the timetable suggests that A-wing is relatively safe. There's probably not much danger here. It's likely a place to gather clues," Chen Shang remarked as he made his way towards A-wing. The main entrance was open, leading into a spacious lobby filled with the scent of disinfectant. There were chairs for waiting on either side, registration counters to the left, and a wide hallway to the right.

Chen Shang headed to the registration counter, hoping to find some useful information. But as he approached, a pale face suddenly popped up from behind the counter.

[Holy crap, jump scare!]

[There's a ghost!]

[My cabinet just moved. I'm outta here!]

[Aren't we all ghosts? What's there to be scared of?]

[Oh yeah, good point.]

In a typical horror movie, the protagonist would scream and collapse at a sight like this. But not Chen Shang. He wasn't just any ordinary person—he was practically a lunatic. Instead of screaming, he didn't even slow down, continuing to approach while discreetly drawing a military knife from his [Streamer's Inventory] and gripping it behind his back.
